Why not start the bidding at a higher price?
What are you, the ebay police? Why the hell give ebay the money, they get enough anyway.
PS. Extortion is where you demand money with menaces, not where some loser starts blubbing because he doesn't like paying the price he agreed to.0 -
Salt and vinegar or ketchup? This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

In retrospect it could have gone by courier for a similar price, but no postage value would be displayed on the package, and it is likely the buyer wouldn't be making veiled threats.
Alternatively use the paypal postage option, and use the option to remove the price from the label.
Value is about perception, rather than cost.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Because if people avoid fees. Ebay get less money so ebay put fees up and I have to charge more to cover the fees so I sell less and make less profit. So I lose out. Its basic economics. Try not to be so myopic.0 -

Unless you get someone who weighs the item at the other end. Which I do if the postage isn't displayed because it makes me wonder what they are hiding.0 -

Me too as I always undercharge if its not Free P&P:D0 -
how much did it cost you in time (to pack the item) packaging ( box and tape) labelling and finally transporting to your nearest Post Office and the subsequent time spent standing in a queue waiting for them to acept the item?
add the time up...even at minimum wage £5.80/hr or whatever, petrol to drive to the post office etc...I thought Ebay allowed you for all these things in your carriage costs?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -
If you overcharge you then refund the difference after you realise you have and come back from the post office. See simple
No not simple. As I explained sometimes I overcharge slightly and sometimes I undercharge slightly so the two have to cancel each other out. The only other option is to ensure that I use a generous P&P rate to ensure that I never undercharge. However, this could then reduce the chance of items being sold and if I list them for 99p then it means I'm not being charged for the unsold item but actually costing eBay for listing the item, so who wins there? Answer no-one everyone loses out.0 -

I don't think so. You can't give yourself a wage for packing and posting an eBay item. The P&P charge should just be the amount spent on the physical packaging, and the amount spent on the courier to deliver it. You might get away with a very small amount for your petrol but you can't slap on £5.80 for 'minimum wage'.0
