I've overcharged on postage
I sold an item £11.08+9.99 and has been recieved by buyer
buyer sent
I was dismayed to notice the postage for this item was £4 and not the£11 quoted. I assume this was an oversight and ask that the difference be refunded to my paypal account straight away please. Thank you for your help. paul
I made a mistake purchasing it so already losing money on it. the postage was £4.5 and I quoted £9.99. I know the only thing to do to save me getting negative feedback is refund the full difference, but he paid the price I charged so it is really annoying

postage was £4.50 but you need to add the cost of packaging it up to post it as well, explain that to the buyer and then do a partial refund of the restEx forum ambassador

All I used was a used box, he doesn't seem like a reasonable person.0

So you charged double the postage cost. No wonder the buyer is !!!!ed off. You have 2 choices partially refund or refuse which means you'll have bad feedback and poor DSRs. If you continue to charge such high postage your ebay selling career wont last long as a few ones or twos on your p&p DSR and it wont be long before you lose sales and could even end up being suspended over compliance issues. P&P is just that postage plus a reasonable packing cost. Personally £5,50 isn't reasonable. You should not use postage to to profit because you didn't price your item sensibly.0

I have had great feedback and scores. reasonable people decide how much they want to pay for an item and bid that regardless of how much of it is p&p. He was wanting the item for £21 now he is trying to get some cash back, which is dishonest to me.
It's only ebay making people think it matters, so they can make even bigger profits0 -
It really annoys me when people overcharge on their P&P and refuse to refund the difference.
If you thought it was going to cost you a lot then fine, but it didn't so you should refund them.
The 'You agreed to the postage costs when you bid' REALLY annoys me.
Actually I agreed because I thought it cost that much. I didn't agree to it costing half of that and you pocketing the rest.
Refund the difference and think about it from the buyers side! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I buy alot and don't care what the postage is same if i am buying online. I don't care what percentage the postage is, just what is the cheaper price.
I bought something from tesco p&p at £5, would have cost £1 to send0 -
Hmmm I'd give them something back. I have in the past over estimated P&P by as little as £1 but I have refunded that difference- its only fair really0

Your buyer clearly does though. I'm not really sure of the point of this thread if you are going to ignore the advice given.0 -
I didn't say I was going to ignore. I am going to refund £5.
I just find it annoying. But there is always going to be people trying to take advantage of someone else0 -
