    Hi

Just coming on to update my signature, had to go to Morrisons for some milk and while I was there I bought some yogurts which we needed and some bananas spent £5.10 so not too bad.
Some asparagus to use up so tea is asparagus risotto :)
Has any one used fresh yeast in a bread maker, I am new to this machine and the bread is quite good using dry yeast but I wondered if anyone uses fresh and how much would you use? Thanks

Can't do an exact total because DH has 2 small recipts for me - which means that I'm close to £270 from my £475 budget!!!:eek::eek:

I'm away this weekend (pampering spa) DH is likely to have takeout on Sat night (footie!) - I'm hoping he'll just get one for him late and feed the 6 children (our 4 and 2 friends for a sleepover) food from the stores - sounds mean, I know - but there are lots of goodies in for them. Plus he's likely to get an Indian (meal for 1) which he'll eat half of and put half in the fridge.

Part of today's spends was on 3 x box of Becks beers for £20 from Mr T - but that'll last DH until at least Xmas, if not longer!! We still have some Smiths bitter and Fosters lager and small 'stumpy' French lagers left from the end of last year, and over 1 dozen bottles of wine, 2 bottles of baileys and 2 bottles of whiskey - think he's sorted for a long time to come!

I have just wedged stuff into the freezer - including in the ice dispenser - it's that bad!!

I have enough bread and milk (cravendale, so will last) until next weekend and some f&v. I do need to get some more apples for lunchboxes and maybe some pears for DS1 and also two packs of pain au choc from Aldi. That really, really, really should be it until at least a week, if not more, then!!:o:o

Mealplanning has fallen by the wayside this last week - and it shows!!!

just wondering if anyone shops at Waitrose?

I have always avoided it as i thought it to expensive, but my friend says she always goes there as waitrose essential stuff is a really good price and excellent quality

does anyone have any experience in waitrose essential items?

    Hello!
I love Waitrose and could not live without; I shop there all the time and only use another supermarket (MrT) once a month to buy non-food stuff in bulk. That is, I go to MrT to buy toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, cheap vinegar for cleaning etc... I make one big monthly shop there (keeps my clubcard points up). For everything else, and for ALL my food, I go to Waitrose.

The funny thing is, I actually spend less now that I go to W than I did when MrT was my 'one stop' supermarket. I'm still unsure as to why, it almost doesn't make sense, but there you go!

    Aaaaaanyway.....

    Just to update my totals:

    spent so far: £90.28
left in the pot for the month: 169.72

    Kisses everyone :T

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just remembered that I hadn't added the £3.90 carrier bag of bramleys (12lb)from my weekend buy at the farmshop! :o Hope to turn most of them into apple and mint jelly - just have to scrounge the mint from a friend. I cooked 3 apples up today and got some apple pie filling, apple sauce and some apple juice for my efforts. I used the peel and the cores as well!:money:just simmered them and sieved once soft.

Dinner tonight is some ham from the freezer, eggs, hm potato wedges in the remoska and peas, followed by some trifle which used up some going stale cherry buns. If dh is still hungry after that I've made a batch of cherry and coconut scones. I made some "leftover veg" soup today ready for tomorrows lunch, just need to make some bread to go with it.

Only trouble with doing all this cookery is that the housework is piling up!:(
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Well so far the month is going well - more necessity than judgement (have run out of money) - have spent 115 so far and have enough food till payday (15th) however cupboards are starting to look empty so am currently planning an online tesco shop for 15th including replenishing tins, flour, pasta and cereal etc- expect it to come in around 100 and am using the MSE code to get 1000 extra points so i can swop for a day out in summer hols. That shop should give me all basics needed to last till month end and then I'll only have to get a couple of weeks of dairy and fruit so I reckon i could be well under my 400 budget - hope so - the start of a new era in my house.

The kids are loving it too as suddenly we have home cooked biscuits, bread and cake - something that has been missing for a while.
Been stupid but have no regrets starting to slowly sort my finances now the kids are growing
