Ask him to send it back in the static proof bag as well, he may not have realised what the bag is for :)

paypal may side with you, provided you can give them a copy of the report stating unequivocally the serial number of the module, and that it was working as of xxx date

I see few 'item not as described' complaints go through without hassle though when it's clear the buyer has damaged it

    usually the seller looses out

also, there are different voltages nowadays for RAM, you may find he had a 5v slot, and the RAM you've sent is 3.3V
thats his tough luck, he should have researched or asked before trying it

ask the buyer to send the module back for independantly verified testing (as you originally did), the cost of which will be invoiced to the buyer. (unless of course, you as the seller are in the wrong)

if the module is faulty, then request return postage costs and a fee for testing
if the module is OK, then request a fee for testing, and restocking (if you want to charge a few quid for the hassle), or hang on to it until he pays for insured return postage

    if you do refund him
    - refund less ebay fees
    - less postage fees
    - less postage costs and testing time
    - less a restocking fee

if he chooses NOT to use recorded delivery, then you can claim that it never arrived to you,
if he sends it recorded delivery, then he can prove to paypal that it's been signed for

ultimatley, if its damaged by him, rightly, you should not be out of pocket, just watch for the 'fraudulant' transactions from paypal if the buyer decides to get grumpy and do a credit card chargeback
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

You are great...such a fantastic group!!! I am wondering what I would have done without your help and support...it is just like a family, when you are in trouble you write here and everything is easily sorted out.

I have already wrote him about my conditions and I am still waiting for his reply...I am very curious to see what he decides to do...as soon as I have his reply I will post it here so you will know as well...

Thank you again for your help and support...you are great!!!!!!!

....and the story continues...to the next chapter...

Finally the problem is finished...yesterday I had to deal again with him...the day before I have sent him an e-mail stating my rights...refund less time wasted if memory works or no refund at all if memory is faulty.

He did not reply to the e-mail for 15 hours and after he sent me another e-amil and he told me it is ok thank you to be so understanding where I send the memory to?

I wrote another e-mail saying ok I give you my address but I repeat again these are the conditions so you send the memory back only at these conditions.

So troubles again...no you have to give me the money back even if the memory is faulty...on and on....

So I finally told him I was very annoy with him and his behaviour and I did not take any responsability If he would send the memory to me...my e-mail was very cleared...at the end he decided he was too much for him and he said:

Look its over…… stop bothering me enjoy your £26….the module is in the bin

    Stop wasting my time

I did not hear from him again....I really hope everything is finished...or he is preparing another bad surprise...you never know...

    However...I hope it is really over...it was a fight...but finger crossed, I hope I won it ....

But I did not win it alone!!!!!!!!!

Thank you again for your fantastic help...you are really great!!!!
