I have just received the e-mail from him...this is what he said:
Hi, its reporting bad memory ie its not working(and it is the correct module for the hardware)….i’d like a refund please ,surely its no big deal, its probably already taken more than £25 of our combined time so far…lets save more hassle and I’ll just send it back and you can refund me…whats the problem?...
cheersNo reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
I do not why he does not want to give me the model of the laptop...No reliance should be placed on the above.0

Quite looking forward to typing his laptop into Crucial, Kingston and alike.
But I'd just take it back. Plop it in your laptop to make sure it works, get it tested. Let's say it doesn't work, then you don't have to refund... If it does, sell it on with more information and say no refunds on this item.
It's not going to affect your feedback since you've both done it. Would be an education going through PayPal actually with no feedback recourse.
but if she excepts to take it back and it doesn't work when she receives it how can she then deny a refund ? the buyer stated to her it doesn't work so she wouldn't have a leg to stand on. how could she then prove that the buyer has done something wrong etc.
it worked fully when it left her but now buyer says it doesn't, so either it broke in transit ? buyer has broke it ? or something fishy is going on. i don't know anything about memory so please forgive my ignorance but if it worked fine when she sold it i still can't see why seller should refund
if the item hadn't been independently tested before hand then i'd probably take a different view and refund but not in this caseNobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

I know something about memory slots and the worst here he is working in a computing department. My guess here is he saw the picture of my ad and he saw that the information on the memory slot matched the one he has already but his one was faulty. He bought mine and now he has swap mine with the faulty one and now he wants the money back. New, working and most of all free memory module...this is unbelievable...
as he does not want to co-operate as well... I asked him again about the laptop model and brand...I wait for his next e-mail....No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
Yes I could be ok but the memory module are very similar...I am wondering if you can recognize them in any way...if the numbers match and everything else I could be sure it is mine memory and not his?!?!?!No reliance should be placed on the above.0

tbh i'm really struggling to see where the sellers rights are within ebay at all

most if not all sellers i've dealt with have been honest, genuine and friendly, i know there are a few scammers and people to avoid out there but on the whole i think sellers do a blumming good job in doing all they can to help and rectify any problems, why can't ebay see this and give them some protection
another thing thats bugged me lately is the amount of people that say that they haven't received their goods. i honestly can't beleive that RM can lose this amount of letters/parcels, they never lose my bills
i had a parcel sent to me a few days ago by RD and i said 'dont i need to sign for this' the delivery guy said 'no, it's ok'
ok, so i'm an honest person and would never dream of saying i hadn't received it but surely thats giving the less than honest people the green light to say the item wasn't received
don't these people realise that by doing this they are hurting the people that are trying to do them a favour by selling them goods less then the price they would probably have paid elsewhere, leaving them out of pocket
why would anyone try to rip of some genuine sellers for a few quid, where are their morals
sorry slightly off topic but just couldn't stop my fingers moving on the keypad

I wouldn't refund at all. You have proof that it was working. If he files a item not as described then he would have to get someone professionally to check the thing and prove that it is faulty. Just say no. Even if it is the right type for his laptop, he could've damaged it.
Dont do it!

It has been tested..
She's not a shop or retail outlet. She doesn't have to do anything.
yes i understood the before and after report, sorry didn't quite explain what i mean't properly, what i should have asked is, would she then have to send the before and after report to paypal in her defense of not refunding if buyer complains to paypal

In the next e-mail I will try to understand what he wants...I hope he is not even thinking I give him a refund without seeing the memory slot...maybe this is his idea..
But I am afraid to see it and probably it is not the same one or maybe he has damaged it...that it a great problem...as I will loose memory and money as well!!!No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
But if he has damaged it accidentally and now my memory slot is faulty...here he the winner ...and I received the memory slot back...it is dameged, he has the money and I have nothing...loosing money and memory as well...
Another thing...do you think it is easy to swap a memory slot with another one quite easily or with the picture I gave you I can recognize it without doubt that the memory he send me it is mine and not his?!?!?!?No reliance should be placed on the above.0
