In my listing I wrote information about the Siemens slot and a link to the company...I have checked for information about this particular model but it is not like the Kingston one...but I have specifically asked to the buyers to contact me and ask me any questions...I know the problem with memory slots as well...and I have also know as I have worked in a Computing Department in a College that people who are working there have very good access to all the computing resources...they can easily find or take memory modules, hard drives etc...so it is not a surprise he could do something like that...

but I do not want to be the looser here...so what can I do?!??!

I'd personally tell the buyer that you are not prepared to refund, you have proof that the item worked perfectly on sending, the buyer clearly was happy with the item cos he gave you positive feedback.

I can't understand how paypal can side with the buyer when the seller has proof of a fully working item from an independant witness  where are the sellers rights here  it appears that everything is in favour of the buyer however snidey they may be

You are quite right...the buyer has all the rights while the seller has always to loose everything...delivery costs, item you are selling...that is a disgrace!!!

i'm no pro when it comes to ebay or paypal, but from what i've read around the boards it seems paypal insist that the buyer return goods to the seller for a refund and the buyer needs to send by recorded means.

That said, i think it's a ruddy joke that paypal could even consider siding with the buyer in this instance, proof is proof and thats what you have to show the item worked perfectly, if it's not working now then thats the buyers fault not yours, or i'm i missing something ? do sellers on ebay have to give buyers a gaureentee that goods will work/be fully usable for 'x' amount of time and that they have the same statutary rights as buying from a store etc :confused:

I have sold this one for 24 pounds plus delivery... and it was perfectly working and I am sure it is still perfectly working unless the buyer destroy the memory slot...I know the clock issue as well but my laptop could take clock 2 and 3 as well and PC100 or PC133... they were both working fine!!!!

You can see my listing the Ebay listing number is: 120018895341

This is the first time for me on Ebay...but you never know what sort of people you can meet there...they could be genuine or completely the opposite so how can you protect yourself?!?!
