I have noticed that...I have finished University 2 years ago and I have to say that students at University think they are so clever just because they are attending University while most of them are the most ignorant people (no offence) I have ever met.....most of them they do not know even how to spell and write a proper letter!!!

Having a degree does not mean anything at all...it does not make you more clever or anything else...You have just a degree...that is it!!!

I think that the right think to do is to ask him to send it back via recorded delivery. If he doesn't end of story. Not telling him about recorded delivery is not right. I have not ruled out the chance that the memory has been damaged in transit (in which case it is clearly your responsibility, as you were the person who packaged it). Have you used static bag by the way? According to the other member, not using a static bag in itself is enough to consider that you have damaged the memory. (Of course he wanted to apply this idea to the other person, but you should generally be careful).

There are two possibilities here: either it is damaged in transit, in which case you should refund the buyer, or it is incompatible, in which case you should resend it to him (his expenses, obviously) and suggest that he sells it on to minimise his losses, or offer to buy it back at 10£ and put an extra tenner in your pocket by selling it again!

As for the case of the guy replacing this with something else, this is too much hassle really, just for £20. The only case I would worry about is incombatibility which makes him damage it wilfully, but this is not very probable.

I do not think it is too much hassle to replace it...If you have access to University resources as he does...probably he decided to buy my memory slot just because it was very similar to the one he had already!!!

I send it with the proper static bag (the one they gave me in the memory testing place!!)...It was very well protected...I am not sure it was not damaged in transit!!!

However if I asked him to send it back Am I forced to give him a full refund or not?!?1

Even if he has damaged my memory module?!?1

Or it is better I state the things quite clearly before he sent it backto me..like I give you 50% refund if, 25% if you have done this or that

What do you think....Thank you again!!!

This is the nice reply I have from him:

    Hi,

Its an akai mpc 1000 sampler…music hardware .not a laptop…it works with 256mb sodimms (pc133)…it reports a bad memory sector on the sodimm chip at bootup, so I(and the hardware) reckon its not working…

Ps..you don’t need to type in big fonts my eyesight is not failing …chill a bit ,this doesn’t have to be a shouting match ,all I’m after is a refund,if you think the chip is working take it back and resell it…easy,if it’s a case of ebay fee’s then refund me £20 and keep a £5 for the trouble

Please don’t question my honesty …that’s just plain rude

    cheers

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Well just typed in the above in google found these:

    http://www.akaipro.com/productsMPC1000.html

    http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11162540/Akai_Mpc_1000_Drum_Machines_Sampler.html

    Heres the intresting part:

The MPC1000 comes with 16MB of on-board memory as standard that can be expanded up to 128 MB of RAM.

It says it can only be upgraded to 128 but yet he purchased a 256 stick. So maybe its rejecting the memory he purchased from you?

    I read the same:

The MPC1000 comes with 16MB of on-board memory as standard that can be expanded up to 128 MB of RAM.

How could you buy a 256mb for music hardware that can be upgraded to 128mb...that is quite stupid?!>!>

Another thing Could he have damaged the memory slot because he has used it the wrong type of memory...this is a big mistake....128mb and then you put 256mb for 2 or 3 days it could damage the memory...

So at the end you think it is better I asked him to send me back the memory module and be quite specif...

Like you send it by recorded delivery and delivery cost is your responsability + delivery paid by me to send it to you are not refundable.

When I received the memory I go and test it again and if it working I give a refund but if it not working I will not give a total refund?!?!
