Sorry to be pedantic, but is it not 20p each, rather than 50p?
Good deal anyway!
I use the Lidl recycled, but notice it seems to have gone up alot recently, £1.12 to £1.30ish. Maybe I need to change...Free is my favourite price!0 -

For anyone going on holiday to Greece/islands, this has just prompted my lasting memory of a holiday there about twenty years ago...
In most toilets we used there was a notice that said (something like)
"Do not put paper in the toilets as it blocks it. Instead, please put all paper in the basket nearby"..... The stench was unbelievable (i dont think i dared to look!)
btw I have never been back since!:rotfl:
I just started to read this thread for the first time. I went to visit dd in Mexico very recently. She dropped into the conversation on the bus from the airport to the centre where she works that all toilet paper was put into the bins provided, because that water pressure isn't brilliant there and the loos tend to block. This was the case in the public loos we visited. There was a lady on the door giving out loo roll (generous amount) on payment of the required fee. The toilets were obviously well looked after by the employee, as the place was spotlessly clean, though very shabby. No nasty niffs either. We did use the old trick of flushing with our feet though!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

real money saving would be using newspaper torn into squares. like we used to do in the old days.
I always wondered about this thrifty method. What concerns me is the transferrence of ink. ONe's hands are generally dry when one reads the paper too ! You know how your hands get black from reading the paper? Well newspapers used to be far worse than they are now! Don't you get a grubby @r$£?
Regarding macerator toilets...we have one in our 2nd floor shower room. It's kinder to the motor and flushes away better if we use cheapy paper there. I have to admit, you get used to it, so I gradually got it through the other loos in the house. If I find exceptional bargains then I buy some good stuff, but never for the saniflow."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

even the recent offer on charmin at lidl is about 52p more for 3 less rolls (going on the charmin pack being 24 and getting 3 packs of 9 in MrT)
i've not bought value but then again i know that hubby wouldn't use it anyway
I use the Tesco discount brand, Spring Force which is 9 rolls for £1.99. I thought about getting the Charmin ones from Lidl but quite happy with these Tesco ones which work out at 22p a roll. Someone else said they go for quality over price with toilet roll but I just see it as flushing money down the loo!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
