For a tip to make the roll last longer try flattening the tube before putting it on the toilet roll holder. It doesn't 'whizzy' around the spindle as easily - so less of an opportunity for accidental over-use.

I've heard this tip before. Tried it a few times as OH gets through a lot due to IBS. I look out for the offers on the large packs - I think Charmin 12 or 18 rolls are on offer in Morrisons IIRC at the mo.

I also like the Asda Shades they seem to last longer than any others.:T
  • It's the Lidl basic for us... I think it's excellent 12 rolls for £1.09 and the paper isn't too thin, it lasts a while and I am happy with it.
  • I didnt know about the Lidl one!
I was using Sainsburys basics: 12 rolls for £1.12.
Will have to check out Lidl I think!

Lidl have an offer on Charmin at the moment and the family really like lidl's own TP (with the embossed flowers on).

It is a bit dearer but much thicker and you need fewer sheets!

Do you have a Costco card? If so you should look out for the loo roll offers that come in the passport. I remember the last deal that came out was really good. It was for Andrex- when compared with the largest pack of Asda shades it came out about 5 or 10p a roll cheaper. You need a big cellar to store it all in though!

Only get it when its on the passport deal though, the rest of the time its not that much cheaper.
  • I picked up 9 rolls of Kleenex triple velvet for £2.99 last week from Instore/Poundstretcher.
I like KTV and used to get it when Costco had it on a passport deal. They do their own Kirkland version now (instead?) which is ok.

 I find Charmin is very loosley rolled and does'nt last well!
  • Charmin always have offers on, whether in Asda or Lidl. A pack of 24 rolls are on offer at Lidl at the moment but I find the rolls are smaller than Asda Shades or Tesco ones. Tesco have an offer on their loo roll at the moment -16 for the price of 12
