toilet rolls ? best way of saving

I have found that a lot of people I live with coat the toilet seat with loo roll & use about 3 rolls per week. I never understand why???
Hope you don't mind me butting in (sorry, couldn't resist it!), I do this when using public toilets. It's the thought of my bare bottom sitting on the same place that someone else's (possible) smelly and unclean bottom has previously been. The paper barrior stops this. I know that other prople hover, thereby avoiding the problem, but this way you don't splash the seat for the next person to come along.
Obviously I don't do this at home with my nice clean toilet seat and nice clean family!

snigger snigger... what a sad life that we spend so much time wondeing about the price of loo rolls! I tend to buy the big packs on offer and think anything less than 25p per roll is a good deal. Don;t like the cheap nasty ones though and think it's false economy. Asda sometimes do their own brand in a big multipack (18 or 24 can;t remember) for £4 which I've found to be just as good quality as Andrex.:j Not tried to flatten the rolls bfore, so thanks for that tip, I'll give it a try!
As for the Greek toilets, at least we have a good enough sewerage system to not have to deal with that!!! I also have been known to take loo roll from work - if it means I don't have to go home via the supermarket, so be it. I don;t feel guilty about it - it;s hardly Nick Leeson level scandel!Homer: I want to share something with you, Bart: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.0 -
lol, i was just feeling bad as i was at a meeting at the football club the other day and there were a couple of ends of the big loo rolls sitting there which had been replaced with new ones, so i slipped one of the ends in my bag as i was low on loo roll at homeMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Friend of mine was a manager at a well know loo roll and paper manufacturer and he told me that loo roll is specifically designed to disintergrate in water wheras kitchen roll is designed not to and thats why it should never be put down the loo..0

Hi loopychicken,
There's an older thread that might help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.
