just knowing its a beautiful day.
And today has been even better! We even ate our lunch outside in the lovely warm sunshine. That must be a first for October! Long may it continue!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

We have been over at our caravan for a few days, getting ready to close it down for the winter and feeling a bit depressed at the thought. This morning was beautiful once the sun got through so we put off our jobs and went for a walk along the riverbank. We have been hoping to see one every time we walk there and this morning we did - a kingfisher flying up the length of the river! Our mood instantly lifted!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I've discovered that, although I can't do so much gardening nowadays, I can turn my new patio into a mini 'potted orchard'. I've ordered some raspberries to start off with, and am havng fun looking through sites which sell patio fruit trees
. Can't believe my luck, I'm usually way out on timing but it seems this is just the right time to plant fruit trees

Good luck with your patio orchard Sparrer. I have a few fruits in pots on my patio and this summer I had a really good "harvest" from the strawberries and blackcurrants. Plenty of leaves on the gooseberry but, as yet, no fruit. Maybe next summer! I have just planted some raspberry canes in the garden and I hope they thrive as well as the patio fruits!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Today I've discovered there is still such a thing as good service - amazing service in fact. I went to a garden centre to buy a pixie Victoria plum (so called as it only grows to 2 metres and can be grown in the pot), while there I also asked for a blackberry and a tayberry, and arranged for them to be delivered on Tues. When I got home the phone was ringing, the lady from garden centre said she was so sorry but they'd run out of tayberries. She knew how much I wanted one and would put one on order for me, but had added a loganberry free of charge to my order by way of consolation. There are still some very, very good folk in the world0
