I saw a Firecrest in the garden!

I have just seen a beautiful thrush feeding next to the robin and chaffinches, not sure if its a mistlethrush or not, it looked more grey than a songthrush. Anyone more in the know have any ideas? I'm waiting for the field fares and red wings to come back again0

ffloyd, it looks like a mistle thrush to me. A song thrush is about the same size as a blackbird, but a mistle thrush is bigger and has bigger, better defined spots, and is more grey-brown rather than robin brown on its back.If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0

My jasmin is in flower, my parsley has survived the winter so far, at least two of my baby goldfish have also survived and my pond plants all have green shoots, and OH digging the bean trench all made me smile today
oh & the tiniest little rhubarb crown from the seeds I planted last year.
Sometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. (originally posted by kidcat)

Loving the mistle thrush pictures. Beautiful.
My garden today has givn me two smiles. The first is snowdrops! First spring here, so while I'd noted bulbs wher we've dug I was not sure what small spring flowers would emerge. I was thnking they's be somethng like grape hyacyinths...of which I'm nt a fan, but they are snow drops. which I love and though I'm not a fan of spring bulbs in borders these can stay.
Secondly, tit eating here from the feeders.Hopefully more and more garden birds will feel at home here.
We also have a pied wagtail with a deformed leg, and someone has gifted me lots of bir feeder stuff, because birds weren't eating it at their place:)0
