I've been here for 5 years and it certainly is the best it's ever been. I've also got a small pink lavender in my back garden and thats the best ever too - usually its a pretty poor show. I wonder whats caused it to be so good this year, it's been exceptionally dry here and ofcourse we had the very cold winter, and now very high temperatures, maybe that is what suits lavender best. Whatever it is it's beautiful to look at and I love the fact that it's attracting so many bees constantly
Another smile today when I saw how many flower heads had bloomed on my bergamot plant - totally stunning0 -
I'm so impressed by your garden katholicos, I really enjoyed watching your video & your little dog is sooooooooo cute
Was also very interested in your potatoes as I cut all my foliage down yesterday as, like yours, it was flopping all over the place - I'm going on holiday for 2 & 1/2 weeks and thought I would harvest my pots when I came back (don't really have time to do it before I go) but if the foliage starts growing again will I need to ask DS to water the grow bags that have to pots in? I was going to tell him to not do anything with them.
Anyway, thanks for sharing and well done :T (and from someone very untechnically minded I'm impressed that you put a video on YouTube!!!)
Bless you Kimmee you are too kind. Glad you enjoyed the vids. I am a rather inept gardener but i am enjoying it :-)
I think i would ask your son to water the potatoes that have your spuds growing in them :-)Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Smiles i got today were from being able to pick my home grown flat leaf parsely and my first courgette and added them to my falafel burgers which i made for lunch. Accompanied by my fresh pulled salad leaves and radish. I had a little walk around the garden this evening and notice that there will be some more strawbs to pick in a day or two and also more mangetout. Another smile i got was from noticing the most miniscule pepper starting to grow on my capiscum pepper plant...and there are flowers on my aubergine plant too :-)Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Smiles yesterday... home grown potatoes and carrots for dinner. The carrots were grown by my 3 yr old from seed and they were lots of funny shapes and small but delicious... The potatoes were gorgeous and we had one which looked like a heart.0

The RAIN has made me smile this morning! Hallelujah we realy needed this, and so did the lawn! Phew, we're having a right downpour, which should perk everything up a bit. Most of the veggies, despite watering every day, have been looking very wilty and tired.
And yesterday, this little pile of scrummy goodness made us smile. We had them for tea with homemade fishcakes"Your life is what your thoughts make it"

Ditto this. The rain is making me smile, which is unusual! It was forecast on Friday, but didn't come. Not really heavy, but enough to give things a soaking, particularly the grass. I don't think the rain will be making me smile this Friday when I'll be out walking in the Lake District - it's forecast
Also, I planted a wild patch to attract bees and butterflies and have noticed an increase in them recently. Nothing like what we used to get at our hold house, but guess they need time to work out where things are as our garden is new this year.0 -
Smiling still - noticed all the pots in the polly tunnel knocked over (they had seedlings in) on closer inspection, there was our cat fast asleep in the warmth! She really is a clown, loves it when we mess about in the veg patch.abolish call centres now!0

My smile for the day has been watching my little cat play with his home made cat toy. I have been growing cat mint in the garden and he loves it. So i picked a bunch, bound the ends with string and hung it up. You should have seen him jumping about near it. Such a happy chap for virtually free. This stuff is prolific. If you have a cat I would recommend growing it. It also supposedly deters rodents and attracts bees!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790
