The first hint of yellow on my millefleur tomatoes, a curd forming on one of my cauliflowers, and many more gooseberries than I realised - about 4lb of fruit from 2 young bushes. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Thanks hon. I had to run upstairs to get my camera and I thought it would be gone by the time I got back, but I was lucky.Garnet Lady - loved your woodpecker photo. We find them such shy birds. You're lucky you still have a fatball intact on your feeding tray. Round here the magpies come, peck huge chunks off them and fly off with them, and within 15 minutes of putting them out, they've all but disappeared.
That fatball has now gone lol. In fact about 90 seconds after that pic was taken, the woodpecker had flown off and there were 2 magpies in its place. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

Came back this morning from a few days at our caravan to find half a dozen ripe strawberries - the first I have ever grown! We savoured them (3 each!) with a scoop of ice cream after lunch!! Mmmm wish there had been a few more ripe!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I have a cucumber!! Only about 3 inches long so far but very fat. I had almost given up and decided they are not meant for outside. The salad leaves are good but no flowers on the potatoes. Everyone else seems to have flowers....I want some. I guess there won't be any potatoes if they don't flower?0

I have quite a few teeny tiny green tomatoes on lots of plants, various varieties, some in the upright placky greenhouse and some outdoor. Lots of lovely yellow flowers on them all too so the promise of lots of toms to come.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
