I've been out today pruning the mock orange and a very rampant honeysuckle, and I was really pleased to see that my robin nest box which has been ignored for the 4 years since I put it in the garden has had not one but two nests - one inside it and one on top. :D

... Going out to the garden this morning with my first cuppa... and coming in with two big handfuls of freshly-picked peas :D

Also, seeing more and more little tomatoes forming on the tom plants everytime I look!

I have baby tomatoes and I think baby cucumbers. I feel like a proud Mum:jHeaven knows what is going on with the butternut squash, it has leaves like dinner plates.

i have a Leaning Tower of peas in a tub. We shall be eating some with our Sunday lunch. I might even pull up a carrot or two as well.

This didn't just make me smile, it made me laugh!

I had been busy all morning in the garden - re-filling my salad leaf troughs with fresh compost and more seeds, potting on some of the 99p plants Aldi selling this week, making up a big pot of mixed herbs (also courtesy of Aldi), digging up some more new potatoes and cutting back a rampant honeysuckle.

My daughter called, took one look at me, and said "Aw mum just look at the state of you!" It took me back 30 odd years to the days when her and her brother used to come home filthy and dishevelled after a day of playing out and I said the same thing!!

So it's been a day of 2 halves here. This morning found aphid attack so def wasn't smiling. Tonight was a different story. When doing the rounds feeding all the plants I found about 15 baby toms. Then 4 large strawberries that were hiding, still green but pretty big. The biggest smile of the day though has to be finding 2 blueberries almost ready to be picked. These are off the Lidle ones a few weeks ago.
