Well I've had a big smile today. Our neighbour came round to see that we were really struggling to patch up and repair the fence down one side of the back garden. It is actually his fence, but he has recently bought his house and the garden is so overgrown he didn't even know what a state this fence was in.

We needed to repair it as it just looks awful and dilapidated, plus it's rotten, but we can't afford to buy new fence panels.

We nipped out at dinnertime to buy some paint, and when we got home, there he was parked on our drive in his van: he had only been and bought four brand-spanking-new panels for us to put up :D on the agreement that he paid for them, we put them up as he hasn't the time while renovating his house. So we get a new fence and didn't have to pay for it :T

Like the post above, watched nine blue tit chicks as they fledged today. Adorable! Only two flew like Buzz Lightyear (did the falling with style trick) and ended up in the garden. Got the ladder out and gently put them in the leylandi tree.

What a day -still smiling now!

Wow, aurion22, I thought that only happened on picture postcards! What a magic moment.

Me, too .. it was like something out of "The Secret Garden" and I'm particularly glad that my neighbour's two little boys were also able to see it.

Yesterday I found two horse chestnut trees my DGD planted last year, among the myriad pots I have all over the garden. I've not bothered with them, only given the bare amount of water, yet they're both about 15" tall and very healthy. My garden is only 22 feet square so I'm going to have to find another home for them shortly. Any takers? ;)
