Yes! The first tomatoes have set and I discovered tight little flowerbuds on the pepper plants! Cucumbers coming on nicely, too.
And dug up more potatoes, have "nails like a gravedigger", as my mother would have said. But I don't think gravediggers ever used their bare hands to tunnel arround to prise out spuds!0 -
A strawberry getting on for the size of a satsumaimport this0

After a disastrous purchase of pea seedlings (bad idea, I discovered from comments on here that they don't like root disturbance so the purchase was probably doomed to failure from the start) the pea seeds I planted to replace four particularly sick plants have sprouted.., in a week and look brilliant. Mind u, I have planted a 40 ft row of pea seeds in the allotment too.., so hopefully we will get some peas this year lol. First time (almost) planting peas tho). But it was nice to see some signs of success.
My strawberries look fairly big too, I'll post pictures tomorrow.., no blush red yet tho. I'm ordering some strawberry seeds. I'll plant them this year when they arrive (seem to like a temp of 16 degrees to germinate), then keep them in a cold frame while its warm.., polytunnel them over the winter and see how they go. It'll be interesting to see if I have any plants next year. I adore strawberries and intend to have a whole bed of them next year in the allotment.0 -
Over the weekend I discovered my first 3 pea pods on my peas and today I discovered my first 2 flowers on my cucumbers which is wonderful as I thought that they were a goner last week :j0

Watching 4 bees at the same time buzzing from flower to flower on my rasberry cains, then finding one in my greenhouse.
while weeding yesterday I also discovered that I have a large pot of peanuts growing! we have a squirrel in the garden several times a day and he is always hiding monkey-nuts. Well one of his favourite spots is an abandoned pot in the corner, I started to weed it to reuse and found the nuts growing underneath!
Just wondering how to look after them now? and when should they be pulled up?DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
