Just been out to check all the veg: Our cabbage and swede have practically doubled in size this week, they're looking fab. The larger pea plants are starting to flower.

Everything this morning just looks vibrant, happy and healthy, so that's definitely made me smile :D :T

I found one of my matchbox cars recently whilst digging a hole, it must of been buried there at least 15 years and had hardly any rust on it! Oh, and yesterday a cat coughed up more than a fur ball under our car. :(

Forgot to mention that today our (well I say ours but it's not really) blackbird came back to visit us, it stays a while then flies off somewhere else. It was hopping around a few metres from me whilst I was in the garden today, looking for worms/grubs and watching me.

I found this thread for the first time today and all your smiles made me smile! Then I went out to check the gardening and do some weeding earlier and noticed the first flower on my mangetout. I'm really glad to finally start seeing things happening, everything seems to be quite well behind alot of the pictures I've seen people posting on different threads but then it has been grim up North lol!!

    Great photo, soul619!

OH and I were inspecting the garden or "walking the estate" as he likes to call it and heard a very vigorous buzzing. Looking for it, we also discovered a couple of bees in flagrante, first time I ever noticed this.

We'll be having lots of homegrown salad this weekend, chard also needs thinning out, so lots of healthy eating and enjoying the fruits of our labour

Delphiniums bursting into flower now, lots of big spikes, in their 3rd year now and first time they are looking really great!

Today I discovered, much to my delight, that I can do two days gardening little by little and not be gasping. (Was diagnosed with copd 3 years ago, have been going to pulmonary rehab classes for 8 months and it's made so much difference to me, thanks NHS :D). My lovely neighbours both sides said how pretty my garden looks :o. Other than the Coxes espalier, the gooseberry bush and the white lilac, all the flowers and shrubs are in pots and baskets for easiness...next year I'm going to try pot growing some veggies though goodness knows where I'm going to find room in my tiny garden for them !
