I ordered a TV stand for my brother form empiredirect.co.uk (not to be confused with the cataloque EMPIRE)
It stated delivery was £5.99. Even after I entered all details including address. I made the payment with my debit card and was told delivery would be within 5-7days due to it bein NI (instead of 3-5 days for UK). This was fine.
Over a wk later I recieved a phone call telling me there was an error with a 'pop up' on the website. The delivery charge for NI, would cost an extra...................... £50. Do u believe that? From £5.99 to £55.99. Needless to say I cancelled the order.
I bought a LCD TV from empiredirect.co.uk recently. It was free delivery for UK mainland and a surcharge for delivery to NI. I checked what the surcharge was before ordering and was told £30. Even with this surcharge the price was better than any other I could find so I went ahead and ordered.

The online order did not mention any surcharge and the final invoice which I received after delivery did not mention it either!

    Perhaps I was lucky?
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Sorry, first post went on acidentally. I meant to start by saying I do not think amazon should be on green list. They don't have a surcharge, just don't include NI or the islands at all for many items, including bicycles. They include me in their offers emails though.

This is their text on "Large items":

    One for the Green List

The above company. I just ordered the most gorgeous quilt cover and pillowcases from them for £11.99 and 66X72 curtains ( 2 sets ) for £12.99 each. The delivery charge to Northern Ireland was the same as Uk Mainland -£5.99
The parcel arrived today and the postage on parcel said Royal Mail £8.24 but I was not charged extra. The order did take over a week to arrive, but a quick call to them advised me of this as did their website.
    Excellent.

  • Green - The Outdoor Company its a camping store, an extra £2.50 for the sub-charge that is not that bad.

They charge £9.95 for delivery to Northern Ireland, the same as to any part of the United States. (Their delivery page suggests you can pay £3.95 for Royal Mail delivery but the only option when you get to the checkout is Parceline at £9.95).
  • Asda would like me to pay them an "offshore" surcharge of £19.99 on top of the normal delivery charge of £5.81 for a digital photo frame. That's £25.80 delivery.

A similar item on Tesco's website costs £4.85 for delivery.

Asda's response: "As Per our T&C's of sale we do charge a premium for delivery offshore."

Are they delivering by fanfare and flute band?
