yes you can mark down DSR's and message a seller after you receive an item if the postage is massively under or packaging quality poor
however who the hell are you to tell a seller that you feel you shouldnt pay for packaging?
    my blood is approaching simmer

and who the hell are you to tell me that I should not ! :p

OP Would you do me a huge favour ?? Pretty Please?? Give me you Ebay user id so I can...................................................

BAN YOU FROM BIDDING ON ANY OF MY ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOL tongue in cheek :)

P+P is always a point of contention, some people blatantly rip you off some people myself included get it completely wrong and dont charge enough, I have sold things on Ebay for a few quid guessed the postage then when it has come time to post it off have actually LOST money!!

At the end of the day you should be weighing postage up when thinking of buying something, if you think it is fair bid if you dont then simplessssss DO NOT BID ON THE ITEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

The actual cost of posting the item is not the only cost involved hence it being called Postage AND packing!!!

To hound a seller after you have bought something to this extent is simply wrong, the poor seller has given you a bit of a refund to avoid a negative feedback that is more blackmail in my book I do hope you left them outstanding feedback?

    Crikey some people :) ...............................

yes my Ebay user id is loosewomen57 ;)

Politely asked? You know full well you took advantage of their low dsrs for your own ends. If not feedback extortion (which is almost certainly how it came across to seller) then it is definitely DSR extortion. And is quite different to No point trying to sugar coat your tone now that you've been challenged. I'm also trying to figure out which is more pathetic, the fact that all this happened after you said or the fact that you are still trying to justify with You know full bloody well why they refunded, no matter how confident they were, some bloody twonk was still trying to extort money with a thinly veiled dsr threat, which the likes of soolin or cyberbob will tell you is almost as important as feedback.

yes your right I forgot to add these important facts and figures

As well as petrol don't forget wear and tear on the car, the seller's time (@ £10/hr), wear and tear on his shoes, the cost of the food he ate to give him energy to carry out the task, the electricity used to process your transaction on computer, a portion of his housing costs (in which he processed your order), and a profit margin to cover a return on the investment in above costs.

Come to think of it OP, you should probably send him another fiver. :D

"which the likes of soolin or cyberbob will tell you is almost as important as feedback" - oooohhhhh you little name dropper you !:rotfl:

er..... no I dont know why they refunded and er.... nor do you - if it was reversed and they were asking me ,then I would / could say no because I am 100% confident in my postal charge ??!

"which the likes of soolin or cyberbob will tell you is almost as important as feedback" - why bring them into it ? - I know how important ( perceived or otherwise ) it is , maybe I have been dabbling / trading , longer than either of them - just another one of your asumptions / assertions ?

bet you were ( still are ) a school prefect ! :A with a nice badge

If your running a business you'd need to factor in your packaging somewhere or your not going to be getting your tax returns correct?

I spend a good £15 a time bulk buying my postal bags not to mention sellotape/parcel tape and bubble wrap costs. Take into acount invoice/label printing, stickers for return address. I think my 37p packaging charge is pretty reasonable and i'd hate to be loosing these extra pennies everytime i made a sale, you need to factor them in somewhere.

no not really - if I aquirre somethings for next to nothing and sell for £18 each , I am not going to bother about a 10p bag or even postage - sorry !;)

As you are fond of saying:

Pls be nice to all moneysavers.

Or does that only apply to you and your AEs?
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
recently challenged a seller on the postage price and now they have partially refunded - not sure how I feel about this really - postage price was clear in the listing , but didnt see it would be sent recorded - there was no need - it was a lot less than £41

It's not clear exactly what happend... did you receive the item and find that the cost to deliver was largely dissproportionate to the amount printed on the package? Or are you unhappy that the seller sent it recorded which is more expensive and they didn't outline this in the listing?
