oh a little burglary humour for you all (well i thought it funny) i had commissioned a piece of jewellery to be made to go with my beautiful necklace earings and ring set ... it arrived today looking stunning ... shame i dont have the rest to go with it any more lol ...
oh the irony cracks me up

most deff ... couldve saved me self a small fortune if i had known we wouldve been burgled lol ... ahh well might just commission her to make some more matching stuff lol0
-
Trying to find a bright side to the jewellery......would it have been covered if the necklace had already arrived and gone with the rest of the stuff. You might have just paid for it & then kerpoof it vanished.
I'm pleased you have booked the holiday :T something to look forward to.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
This is very true twitty ( what can I call u without causing offence .... None intended bybthe way ) at the end of the day I have a lovely bracelet even if I don't have the rest to match lol0

hi, it is a fine line to walk isn't it on this debt free journey. I'm not the best person at holidays especially those overseas, i generally think that the whole 2 hrs deal at airports ruins a good holiday.
not sure where the parking is that is £12 a day, but i know the few times i've flown it's been cheaper to stay at a hotel the night before and get the inclusive parking there. you may even be able to get cashback via quidco if you use that site.0 -
thanks lemon ... i hadnt even figured in the airport parking ... yikes ... the $12 is for theme park parking ... got the figure from the orlando thread ...
so with you reminding me of that i suddenly remembered other things
airport parking (thanks lemon)
petrol (ok cheaper than here but bigger cars and more driving)
tolls for the roads
airport spends (see rant below)
yikes i think this list will go on and on and on lol0 -
i can totally see where your coming from as well with the whole waiting about in airports ... they have us trapped were there for a while so we go for something to eat or drink to start the holiday off ... or cause you have been that rushed making sure you get in on time you leave early to avoid traffic or the obligatory roadworks that you know will be there cause your going on holiday ...
then after being robbed for the food or drink you go through the security gates where they take the bottle of water you paid twice the already exorbitant rate for cause you aint allowed liquids in ... and proceed to buy more water
then you go in think to yourself oh i know i will get me some duty free its cheaper ... so you toddle off to the counter looking for your fav perfume (for me chanel no5) and the assistant tells you oh today we have a special offer on you will only pay 5 gazillion pounds for your fav perfume and you say oh well i spose i should i mean i am on holiday ... then it is off to the alcohol counter where you suddenly come to the realisation that whilst on holiday you drink litre bottles of southern comfort and here they have it at a knock down price of 2 gazillion pounds but it's cheaper than in the shops so you say oh i'm on holiday ... can you see a pattern emerging here lol
well
that was the old me no more dear people no more
i now ensure i eat really early even if i dont want to i eat something ... yes i can sometimes still have to buy something but it is alot less than i used to ... i dont drink alcohol anymore so no hey were on holiday lets have a drink visits to the airport pub ...
i have to admit i do tend to buy a bottle of water once past security (but not before any more) purely to do me on the flight as i get de hydrated and dont want to pay airline prices ( even worse than airport ones)
perfume ... nah i think not i have tonnes and if i dont get my beloved chanel no5 well then life as i know it will not come to an end ... alcohol dont drink ....
so now airports dont like me i just use them and spend very very little extra money he he he
but i should factor in the little that i do spend i spose0 -
well the car goes into the garage today to get fixed ... and no doubt the beautiful summer weve been having will come to an end ...
we had to disconnect the front two windows to ensure that neither hubby nor myself accidentally pressed the button and the window went down (£20 a time to fix) so for weeks now when we have been driving it has been boiling ... even with the sun roof and back windows open..
hubby at one point said "i dont think we will bother getting it fixed... its just more money and we can manage without it" i moaned and said eh yeah i think so its far too hot in the car (air con has never worked since we got the car) but i left him stamping his wee foot in determination ... till one day he was driving and the weather was warm ... it took him less than ten mins to say " i think maybe we should get the window fixed after all "
but then i dragged my feet a bit thinking no you will bwoody suffer like i have for the last few weeks and ensured i kept sending him out for things ... down to his mums to pick something up maybe or down to son's to give him something ... oh the joy i had in watching him squirm ... there are bad bits in me lol0 -
lol sounds like your hubby got a little taste of his own medicine. I'm sure he'll become a better man through the experience lol0
-
we can only hope lemon ... only hope lol
well got the car fixed ... the price a sumly £77.49 it couldve been alot worse so i feel happy about that ... ihad lifted £110 just incase (when i dropped it off they told me it could come to as much as £120) so with the rest i am going to be buying some glysophate ... i dont think i mentioned one of the other problems we seem to be having (there are so many to choose from lol)
we have the dreaded japanese knotweed outside our garden fence ... very very quick run down for you all
japanese knot weed is a very invasive invader into the u.k it causes untold damage tot he eco system and to peoples gardens etc ... it is a rhiozome (spelling) the shoots can travel 7 mtrs from the parent plant.... they go down a depth of up to 5 mtrs can break through the foundations of a house it only takes 1 cm cutting to re root a new plant and then you have a whole set of new problems ... in short it's a bad wee booger... it has to be treated similar to the way asbestos has to be treated (well that isnt striclty true ... it has to be treated similar in safety etc to the way asbestos is treated) ... the landowner holds responsibility for treating it... but our land owner is absent without leave no one can find him/her/them....
so we have looked up the internet phoned the local biodiversity officer and gotten all the advice from everywhere we can ... basically it cant come into our land ... there are a few of our neighbours now that have it ... some are bothered some arnt (we come under the bothered bit) so the ones that arnt bothered arnt interested in treating it so there is no hope of eliminating it... so those that are interested are going to curb it and ensure it doesnt come into our properties (thankfully the house is atleast 10 mtrs away from the fence)
so treatment is as thus ... cut it all down... this causes the rhizome to grow (but eventually exhausts it) pierce the membrane with a sharp object pour glysophate into the stem burn absolutley everything including clothes shoes etc ... this has to be done approx three times a year for three years (but that is to eliminate ... so we will be doing this basically for ever)
i have all the fun dont i ....
you know i was sitting wondering the other day ... am i the type of person that needs to stumble from situation to situation? do i enjoy it? do i go looking for it ? i really started to think that maybe i did cause it seems to find me often enough ...
then i realised well no i am not ... i am merley reacting to what is happening to me ... i dont actually do these things (burglary petrol bomb an earthship , attack son with knife, japanese knotweed etc etc) they happen and i am in the immediate vicinity and i have to deal with them there is no other option ....
but you know what ? i really really really could do with having a year off ... i have slogged through this now for so long i want a break... it seems i deal with one thing and another just decides to pop along to annoy me ... i want to not to have to deal with something for a change ... just maybe deal with my garden and going for a walk and getting fitter and healthier and spending time just hubby and me (with son visiting)0
