hi all ,
back again lol .... well what has happened since my last diary .. we were doing good .. getting there slowly but steady in the right direction ...
but... well we were burgled ... yeah it wasnt great but it really couldve been so much worse .. we have found since then our hands are never out of our pockets ... we have had to have new safe, new cameras installed, alarm systems installed new windows etc and were not sure if the insurance will pay out for everything that was stolen either
on top of that the car is playing silly beggars again ...the window on the drivers side wont go up ... we really need a new one but our budget will not allow for it.. we have a camping holiday coming up and no money for it .. so like all people when in debt it seems so much easier to slip deeper than it is when you out of debt or nearly there ...oh and i forgot to add the freezer in the garage has broken ... we tried to get it fixed but it needs re gassing and that is apparently very expensive .. and unless they can find the leak the gas will just escape again ... and then there is the whw challenge
dont get me wrong we wernt debt free but we were getting there
i dont want to go back down the road of doing tonnes of overtime to clear my feet that took alot out of me and to be honest my health isnt good just now ... have been having dizzy spells etc.. so i will need to cut back even more ... but i dont think we can realistically cut back even more to be honest
we have made great inroads to our understanding of debt etc since we first joined here ... and i think that helped us deal with the burglary alot .....
so here i am another diary which i will try my hardest not to stop but life does get in the way so i might not be able to post as often as i would like

I like to pop by once in a while :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

please feel free to pop by as often as you fancy
So .... What are my plans ??? Right now I don't actually know ... But I do know I need to make them ... So I will take some time to think etc then start0 -
ok have made a wee foray into the debt and money stuff ...
it isnt complete but i want to put something down
the total debt (including student loan) £15,250 ... there may be some more but i cant think of any just now
this is broken down as follows
£1750 overdraft 18.9% i just found this out ... i think i am in shock ...no wonder they want me to have one (put up due to burglary to buy cameras etc ... was sitting at £750 and going down before)
£500 £5 a month charge (alliance and leicster) overdraft due to sickness and no full wages (oh and a little spending on rubbish as i do)
£2000 visa (was at £4500 so i am getting this down) 0% till november
£1000 0% we owe so far to the mother in law
£10,000 student loan
i know we need to buy a freezer and i know i will need to borrow money again from the mother in law and i need to start saving for a new car and the camping holiday we are going and the west highland way ... and to help our son with his new house
this isnt including other things which i am sure i have forgotten right now0 -
ok we have roughly £2300 coming in every month .. going out we have £1945.75 i have looked at this but i cant find anyway that i can cut down ... so that leaves us with just £355 approx to pay off our debts have some savings buy some food put diesel in the car have money for work etc etc etc ( i will remember the etc's as i go along i am sure)
now i have tried and tried all the food challlanges and i will try and try again ... but i tend to not do well at them
diesel we spend roughly £35 a week just now going to work etc so thats £140 of the £355 budget away
leaving £215 left to feed us get us to work and all the etc's
work money we need roughly £30 a month leaving us £185
food well i honestly cant get it down below £150 a month i have tried but i just cant manage
so with £35 a month left i have to pay mil the visa the overdrafts and save .... this just is not happening folks
right need to go think for a while0 -
have had a quick think ... i dont like this idea tbh .. but it will help ..
i was shocked at the amount the bank are charging for the overdraft ... that is robbery as far as i am concerned ... so i am going to ask the mil if we can borrow the money from her to pay it off ... she has offered to give us money to pay for the windows (which will come to a fair bit) so i am going to be straight with her and tell her the truth about the overdraft and see if she would be willing to help us out with the overdraft
if this is the case then i need to get some form of definate repayment plan going with her ... i am thinking maybe £200 a month (maybe a bit less) so i need to find this money every month ... i think it will help us feel better about borrowing from her and i think it will also help her feel better about giving us a loan of the money ... it will also help us to clear our feet quicker ...
so £200 a month it is then (might be a bit more by the time my thinking is done lol)0 -
Have just dropped the car off to get fixed ... Am walking home and thinking of ways to raise £200 a month ... The obvious answer is the business which I have neglected due to Uni for far too long now ... But where I live is relatively poor so I don't think people have money for treatments ... So I need to make it appealing0
-
right the freezer issue ... i am going to get an argos buy now pay later card ... i dont want to have to do this but it is 6 months interest free to find the money and 6 months of breathing space which we need right now ... hopefully in those 6 months things should be better so we can be more in control ...
will not be applying for it for a wee while yet and honestly need to speak to hubby about all of this ... but i am writting things down and working through them a bit at a time
also need some help with my business ... so going to put feelers out about all that ...
and i will do my tax return in the next month so that i can get that sorted .... i think i will be due some money back for that national insurance if nothing else ..
need to apply for my i.l a funding for my courses for next year too (business stuff)0 -
Ok the car £20 to get it back today ...£260+vat for the part fitting +vat to get fitted so not sure how much altogether ...say £400-£500?0
