Hi Jules, sorry it's been so long!
Sorry to hear about your Nan, it sounds like you all gave her a good send off
OMG I love Amaretto!! It's the only spirit that never stays in the cupboard any longer than a few days...it reminds me of Cherry Bakewells.
We saw Cars 2 last night, I didn't think it was as funny as the first one but it had lots of action! I can't believe how much they normally charge for tickets though, fortunately OH is now on Orange so we only pay for one, otherwise I don't think I would go

Hi Jody
We've got one more set of free cinema tickets, DH wants to see Captain America or Cowboys and Aliens, neither of which I really fancy, so I said he had to pay for those, I'm not wasting the free tickets on them! I really want to see Arietty when it comes out, I loved the borrowers when I was little, and I love all the studio ghibli films i've seen
now I just have to convince DH that it's a good use of the free tickets :rotfl:

Afternoon Diary
had a lovely weekend, went to an engagement party on Saturday for our friends who got engaged last month. It was brilliant, one of those really lovely days when you suddenly realise it's about midnight and you've all been nattering for 12 hoursnot so nice hangover on sunday though :rotfl:
I made a courgette and walnut cake to take with us, which turned out to be really lush. It was like carrot cake, but made with courgettes (obviously!). Got the last 2 slices at home for our pudding tonightplus it used up last weeks supply of courgettes from the garden, I'm running out of ways to use them!
got my latest gas and electric bills at the weekend, and we're getting a £101 refund on the gas, without even having to ask for it, that's definitely a first for me. When we had our first flat we were £180 in credit with the gas company at the end of the winter, and it took me an hour on the phone to get them to agree to refund it! Refund will come in very handy as we're having an expensive month so far, too much socialising, I'm counting the days to payday already, and there are still 3 working weeks to get throughLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Been a bit quiet this week, but not really any moneysaving to report! Hectic at work as we have our biannual regulatory inspection next week, so lots of tidying up and making sure all paperwork is in good order! It seems to have been a very long week, I'm glad the next 2 weeks are only 3 days!
We're off to the coast camping again, leaving Wednesday night, and coming back Tuesday nightMy sister and her DH and 2 girls are coming down on the Saturday, so we're going to go to Peppa Pig world with them (niece no1 will be SO excited!), and also hopefully some nice sunny days at the beach just chilling out
We've got a roofrack for DHs car so we can pick up his Topper sailing dinghy from his Dad's flat on the way, so hoping to do a bit of sailing in the bay where we go to the beach as well
Probably won't be the cheapest week, but will aim to do breakfast and lunches cheaply, we've got a decent coolbox so can make packed lunches before we head to the beach etc. Can't wait!

Excellent news on the gas refund, we always seems to have to increase our DD with the electric people but we always have so much on that I am not overly surprised.
Have a great time camping, hope the weather behaves for you

how can I be so tired when it's only monday!? Probably the effect of playing with nieces all day yesterday, to give sis no4 a break! niece no1 is v funny atm, she's really taken to DH (probably cos he's just a big kid!), and after lunch she told us that we couldn't go in the dining room "because I'm having quiet time with uncle A" ! :rotfl: we were cracking up! Niece no2 has loads more words than when we last saw her a few weeks ago (when the only ones I could make out were shoes, and NO!) She's such a monkey though, she spent all afternoon getting out of her nappy, but before she undid the poppers each time she said ready, steady, GO! so it was adorable, even if it was pesky! i was knackered by the time we went home :rotfl:
no moneysaving to report, we've got our regulatory inspection this week at work  and we're off camping on wednesday night, so probably won't be on much, hope everyone's had a good weekend, and a good week to come!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Back to work yesterday, but had so much to catch up on, I was only off for 4 days, not sure how so much work piled up!
Had a lovely camping trip to Dorset, we took DH's sailing dinghy with us and had a great time messing around on the water. Ended up coming home on Sunday to look after my nieces on Monday, as my sister had emergency surgery last week for an ectopic pregnancyShe's really feeling very unwell, and recovery time will be about 6 weeks. Niece no2 is too little to understand, so we took the girls out for the day to give sis a break. Was quite fun but exhausting, luckily they're very well behaved or I think they'd have run rings around us :rotfl:
Moneywise, it's payday tomorrow :j not much else to report!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Haven't updated for ages, bit lax
Went on my cupcake decorating course on Saturday, it was amazing. The girl that teaches it used to do cakes for weddings etc, which is what I'd like to do eventually, and she gave me loads of advice about setting up a small business from home etc. Learnt loads about making simple but effective decorations, using a piping bag properly etc, Can't wait to get the right equipment to try it out at home. Will have to though, as I added up the list of stuff I need, and it's about £105! Will have to make a list for my christmas/birthday in december.
Here's a piccie of my finished cakes if anyone's interested!:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
