thanks ladies
Wicked was AMAZING! I want to go again tonight! :rotfl:
BF and I agreed back in December to buy tickets for each other and have a girly day out, so we got the soundtrack as a stand-in pressie until we could book it, so have been listening to it since Janurary. Doesn't compare to seeing it live though, I wasn't expecting it to be so funny, and the performers were spectacular. I'm still buzzing!
We started the day at the Hummingbird bakery where we had some gorgeous cupcakes, so so lush. Then we walked up to Oxford street for some shopping, I got 2 pairs of shoes for £14 and £15, and a summery dress reduced to £17. I have to say the sales were so much better in London than the ones in MK on Thursday. I got one of the pairs of shoes in selfridges, and my friend was so excited by the yellow bag that the lovely shop assistant gave her one too! :rotfl: Then we got the tube over to Victoria (our feet were tired by then) and went to the pub we were planning to eat in, had a few drinks and ordered some food, and just sat nattering until it was time to go to the theatre. Perfect day outIn total, including the shopping, I think I spent about £80, which really isn't too bad
Anyway, need to get back on track with my diet this week, been a bit naughty all weekend, and stay on course with the budget as we're away for a long weekend of camping before next payday, so will need to be able to cover that as well. Thinking of going to Zumba this afternoon, but my legs and feet are well tired from trekking around London yesterday so might give it a miss.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I am glad you enjoyed it Jules, it was the first (and only) musical I saw and it really blew me away, makes these so called chart stars seem like X factor rejects :rotfl:.
I want to take littleun and my mum to see it but the cheapest tickets are £22 and a travel card each is about the same so it starts getting pretty expensive. I'd love to see the Lion King too, that's supposed to be awesome

Hi Jody,
I was lucky as a child that my parents took us quite regularly, so I've seen quite a few things. Mostly Lloyd Webber as they were big fans. Also a lot of classical concerts etc. Never seen much straight theatre though, apart from Shakespeare with school! DH and I have also been to a few things, I really loved Avenue Q (just for grown ups mind!) as it was so funny.
It is really expensive to go to the theatre in London, have you looked out for travelling productions coming to your local theatre? There are quite a few good productions on tour. http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/feature/touring_theatre.html
We spent the whole train ride home discussing what we should see next year as we've decided to make this a yearly tradition. Currently it's a toss up between Les Mis, Phantom and Wicked again as we both loved it so much! I've already seen phantom (twice), but it's such an amazing show I'd definitely see it again. Not keen on the idea of the sequel though, and I hear it's closing after only 6 months! I've never seen Les Mis though, so it's a definite possibility.
