Did you do something to your back Jules or is it just playing up?LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I just woke up with pain in my lower back, about 6 weeks ago now. It eased off but has been getting worse again since we moved. Went to GP 2 weeks ago, he diagnosed a muscle spasm and gave me some anti-inflammatories. still no improvement, hence repeat visit today
It's not the first time I've injured myself in my sleep - I sprained my shoulder while I was at uni and had to have 3 weeks off as the painkillers made me loopy! Maybe DH has something to do with it..... :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Afternoon Diary
Just got a text with exciting news, my brother proposed to his girlfriend yesterday! (and she said yes obv!) So happy for them both. My brother lost his way for a while after he went to live up north, but he sounds so happy and settled since he met his girlfriend. She's lovely as wellWe're going up to visit in a few weeks, can't wait to hear all about their wedding plans. He's going to overtake me in the grownup stakes at this rate, engaged to be married and a baby on the way!
Payday today, checked online banking but no unexpected surprises. Deposit from old flat returned, sadly minus about £300 due to their insanely picky inventory process  Still really peeved about this, as they insisted on more cleaning after we'd handed the keys back, and charged us a ton of money for it, but I don't think it needed doing at all. We spent hours cleaning the flat, it was spotless as far as I'm concerned. And we had to pay an £80 fee to have the inventory done! Grrr!
Will have to wait to do my siggy update until DH's money arrives in the joint account, as he doesn't get paid until Monday. This is the first month of the new budget and all the payment dates need shuffling around as our rent day has moved.
DH used to pay the rent directly from his account, so on my payday everything for the debt repayments was already in the joint account and I could make all the payments in one go.
Now our rent day is my payday, which makes it a bit tricky as I have to cover the rent payment and DH's contribution to the joint account won't arrive until Tuesday!
Luckily most of the CC due dates are around 10th so plenty of time left to pay them, but there are 2 on direct debits for the 22nd, which I think I'm going to have to move to after the 26th to make life easier.
Also a good thing I checked online banking today, as the letting agents hadn't set up the standing order for the rent! Done it myself online, which I would have preferred to do anyway, and also set up standing order for the council tax.
Back no better today, had a 2 hour meeting this morning and was very uncomfortableReally fed up of it now.

£300! Robbing gits! Couldn't you object?
Sounds complicated with the two different pay days Jules. I still have to wait for next Fri, it's torture!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I did object, I said I thought it was unnecessary and the flat was perfectly clean, but they said that in our contract we agreed to clean it to the state we received it in (as described in the really picky inventory) and that we'd failed to do that. They wouldn't release our deposit until the additional cleaning was done and there was no arguing them out of it.
The really annoying thing is that in our copy of the new inventory there were comments like "skirting boards in bedroom appear grubby" when I'd got down on hands and knees and scrubbed them, so it's actually that the paint is old and needs freshening up. My other favourite was "discolouration on seal of dishwasher", not damage, just a faintly orange bit where some pasta sauce dropped on it! Almost everything they listed *I* thought was fair wear and tear.
They didn't seem to notice the big gouge in the hall wall where our sofa got stuck when we were moving in, thank goodness! They *did* notice that we hadn't hoovered out the airing cupboard. Never even occured to me to do that! :rotfl:
I also think the inventory fee was ridiculous, £80 to do a 2 room flat?
grrr, my blood is boiling! bet you wish you hadn't got me started now!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Vacumn the airing cupboard, what normal person does that!
My blood would be boiling as well, they are blatantly picky idiots who are ripping people off grrr.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Oooh just logged in to my barclaycard and found a balance transfer offer
6.9% life of balance for a 2.5% fee, not too shabby! Going to transfer DH's Capital One card onto there, and then all our debts will be low interest/interest free :j until Januray when the first BT runs out at least! :rotfl: This gives us a few months to get that balance down though. w00t!

It was just under the "Transfer a balance" section on the card summary Woowoo. Not worth doing unless it's empty though, as you'll pay off the 6.9% balance before any other balances on the card.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

I can only transfer £841.77, this whole card is already on 6.9% for life of the balance. I am going to move some of Lloyds.
