Hey Jules,
Where did you guys go camping? We're off dorset way in a couple of weekends with friends - hoping it'll be a cheap event! Glad you had a lovely time, you sound just like me....just get more freckles and they seem to make me looked tanned :rotfl:
Bless you not applying for the job. I really hope that your friend gets it, seems like it'll be just what she needs right now.
Hope you manage to catch up on some much needed rest after trip to conference! xx0 -
We went to Studland Bay, just across the harbour from Poole. We always go there, as a friend has a beach hut on the NT beach. We stay at Burnbake campsite, which I would recommend. It's cheap-ish, and has decent showers and a good shop etc. We even managed to buy a frying pan and bacon to use with our new gas stove for breakfast (not very MSE, but delicious
)

Studland is nice - our friends parents live in Sandbanks so we sometimes go down and get the ferry across. On a good day it actually feels as though you are abroad - bliss
Will take a look at that campsite, worth a visit me thinks! x0 -
It was like that last weekend, so warm and beautiful. Even the sea wasn't too cold, once your skin had gone a bit numb
We're going down for a whole week in September, we've decided to use OH's bonus for a mini-holiday, as we haven't been away since our honeymoon 4 years ago! They have dinghy hire at one of the studland beaches, and OH is determined to teach me to sail!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi Jules,
Glad to hear that the conference went well and you had a fab time camping! I can understand your reasoning for not pursuing the job and I hope your friend gets it and it makes her happier at work.
The week away sounds like a good plan, hopefully we will still have great weather then so it will be lovely and relaxed (apart from maybe the sailing!).
Hope you manage to have a few relaxed eves to catch up on some rest!

well today has not got off to a very good start! I managed to not set either of my alarms last night  luckily (?) DH was getting up to go in early as he had a migraine yesterday and wasn't able to catch up on some work he was planning in the evening, so he woke me up, but I've been running late ever since
Also checked online banking and I have no money left (except for petrol) until payday apart from the loose change in my purse. j/acc has £26. Waaaaay too much unplanned spending for the last 2 weekends, must be extra disciplined until 21st! Luckily the freezer's still got loads in, so we just need a few fresh bits to last us til then.
Worst of all, as I was driving home last night the Engine Management Light on my Ka came on, so I pulled into the Ford garage to ask about it and was told not to drive it . But they didn't have the right computer to check what the fault was, (they have it on timeshare with another garage :rotfl:) so I had to drive it home anyway. It was still on this morning, but went off halfway to work. My colleague (who knows about cars) reckons it's a duff sensor, but no need to do anything unless it comes on again. Fingers crossed it stays off, I need to get car tax at the end of the month, so can't afford repairs as well. Especially as DH's Focus was in for repairs on Monday and came to £175.
Not really a happy bean today, thank f it's fridayLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Feeling a bit better today, had a nice lazy day yesterday and finally caught up on sleep.
I saw this house on rightmove, which looks just like what we're looking for when we move. Unfortunately it's too early! Fingers crossed it's still available when we start looking properly in august!

Sorry to hear about the car! It does sound like a sensor and just a small word of advice.....don't take it to a Ford garage! They charge a blinking fortune. Last year I needed a control valve replacing to get my air con working and Ford wanted £256 to do it , The garage who service my car (Forumla 1 - part of a large chain) charged me a total of £89. I try and avoid the brand dealers as I really think they take the biscuit and do no more than the chains or independants!
That house is a really good price (we pay more tan that for our flat) and sounds like it would be perfect for you, August isn't that far away now so there is a good chance it may still be there
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

My lovely colleague has already volunteered to replace it for me if the light comes on again, apparently they only cost about £20 and it's an easy job.
Our 1 bed shoebox/flat costs more than that house, hence why we're moving to Bedford! We've decided to take a look at it, as we're not tied into a fixed contract on the flat, we were just planning to move in September because we'd have been here a year. If we like it, we'll rearrange our plans
DH is already planning a housewarming bbq, and I thought he was meant to be the sensible one! Will have to keep my feet firmly on the ground!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Bleugh, I feel incredibly hot and sticky. Went out for a run at lunchtime, and even though it was raining a bit am still totally overheated. Not a good run either, too humid and I kept getting stitches
Only 2 weeks until my 10k so need to get plenty of miles in this week before taking it easy next week. Only 3 miles today, will try for 4 on wednesday and 5 on Friday.
Have made an appointment to view the house tomorrow lunchtime, and a work friend is coming with me for a second opinion. If I like it we'll try and arrange an evening/Saturday viewing so DH can see it too. Good plan, plus I get to have cuddles with my friend's little girl while we have lunch, as she's off on maternity atmLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
