found a cat & her 1 day old kittens

CC,
I would go to the ASSISI in Newtownards, not only where I got Daisy from but I gather the CPL in Ballybeen is full & turning away cats.0 -
spike - cp told me to put the kitten back out and that the mother will do better than what we could have done - so we did just that
the mother has put her back in the bushes at the back of the garden between the fence and the wall.
cp said to continue feeding the mum & she will continue to feed the kitten - once the kitten has stopped feeding we have to get a humane trap from the vet so the mum can be neutered - so time will tell i suppose
bit of an emotional 24hrs but at least we seem to be getting somewhere and everyone involved seems to be happy with the arrangement so far - the mother cat has even ventured into my mums house a few times just to walk about! and she keeps coming back for food, then randomly lies at my mums feet but we still aren't able to pet her! time is the best thing i suppose!
thanks to everyone who has again responded to me in mu hour of need lol!!0 -
Keep it up, sounds like mum is getting used to the idea of being around people. Hope they are both well and you are ok!
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
Keep at it c_c and I am sure that the mum will get more and more friendly, be consistent with no sudden movements etc
Try and handle the kitten in a few weeks time so that she doesnt go ferral too, the more human contact they both get, the better.
Keep all my fingers crossed for you and hope that things keep improving. I really hope the mum takes care of the little one.
And I still think you have done fantastically for someone who has not kept cats before.0 -
