We can't bring them Indoors cuz the mum doesn't come close enough to touch yet and I don't want to rush her. The last thing I want to do is frighten her off by interfering!this whole malarky is rather stressful lol!bt getting to take my 2kttens at the end of it will be all worthwhile!0

Oh bless, its just a little dot! Hope they are doing ok
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
quick update - another 1 has died
so only one kitten left! just 2 and a half weeks old so still a long way to go before we know for sure it will survive!
went to my local pet shop & they were very helpful! the lady who helped actually fosters abandoned kittens and currently has 8 so i imagined she knew what she was talking about lol!!0 -

I'm afraid there is a little more bad news. I was changing the newspaper in their box when i noticed the last kitten had a weepy eye. Asks dad to look at it and we noticed one eye was mostly closed over & as I say the other was weepy.when my mum was feeding mummy cat dad lifted the kitten to wipe it's eyes with a damp cloth but wee dot started to squeak so mummy cat kicked off hissing etc so dad put dot down and mumsy lifted dot as if to take it awa. The 2 of them are back in the shed ATM but I don't imagine she will stick around for much longer.
Any ideas on what the weepy eye is caused by?I've heard it could simply be the mum cleans it's b*m first the it's face do jet germs or else cat flu or a serious eye condition where it could end up blind
hope dot isn't in pain0 -
If you can possibly get back to the kitten id do like i would do to clean babies eyes, cooled boiled water, one cotton wool ball each wipe, so dont put the ball back into the water so no spreading infection if there is any.
I have found a couple of litters in my grandads greenhouse years ago and some of the kittens did have gunky eyes and thats all i did.
Can i just say though, as this cat isnt yours and you dont know if its a stray, 3 people may have been a bit too much for the mum to cope with and thats why she hissed etc, maybe go in on your own to get a bit of trust back.
Good luck

nita - it was only my dad who was out lifting the kitten to wipe its eyes - spoke to the vet and they said to bring it - i explained that the mum wouldnt come close enought to touch so we cant really take the kitten away. the vet said to bring the kitten anyways and get it treated cuz if its cat flu the kitten will need injections etc! just hope the mum doesnt reject the kitten cuz we arent able to hand rear it - the 4 of us work full time and my wee bro is on holidays so just not an option!
fingers crossed everyone & pray to whoever you believe in that wee dotty will be ok!!
i will update this evening. and thanks again to everyone for all your help, answers & opinions xx0
