HI
I am thinking of making a wrestling ring cake for my ds birthday but does anyone have and ideas on how I can keep the ropes up as they only attach at each corner to posts. Was thining of using sweet laces and maybe chewy sticks for the ropes and posts.
Thanks0 -
These cakes are great. :T
I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday last year. A pink dinosaur made from a madeira baked in a pyrex bowl then covered in icing. It was my first attempt at anything other than a basic round cake which is why it's a bit dodgy!
It's her 3rd birthday this Saturday and I'm working full time so don't have as much time as last year but will hopefully make a small round cake surrounded by fairy cakes as petals.
We must have the same cake decorating book
Here's my first attempt at baking a cake - EVER!!0 -

Hi
Sorry if this is a bit late but I thought this might help you out. It's a picture from a book I have at home. The poles are made from plastic cake dowels and the ropes are made from silver embroidery thread. The poles just have a piece of black fondant on the top. Good Luck:DFeb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Hi Awesome
I've just finished a cake for my daughter in law which has wired flowers on top. I just stuck a piece of fondant on the back of the flower with the wire in between the flower and fondant iyswim, it seems to have held ok. I did bend the wire round at the top first as I was terrified someone would lose an eye:eek: I will post a pic shortly for you;)
