Thanks, I found it surprisingly easy
Just used the icing like plasticine and sculpted easy characters like the mushrooms, the Mario and Yoshi at the front are plastic figures as it would be a bit fiddly for me to make out of the icing. Looking forward to seeing the Stig!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
Yeah me too!
Both my boys are right into Mario, my youngest who will be 4 in july, wanted a bowser party, I'm hopefully managing to persude him other wise. I mean how many 4 year olds know about bowser!0 -

Well I got both my cakes done, really pleased with both, although I could do with more practise with the pudding bowl. I even had enough mixture to do 12 cupcakes too, which I donated to the school fair, just couldn't face any more cake!

Great thread
I used to work as a dessert chef and had to make tons of cakes - so many that I got sick of them (made 7 two tier cakes most days in the middle of summer as we supplied them to a tea garden). Those were some long sweaty hours!
Lemon drizzle (my favourite one):
Oh that looks yummy, would you still have the recipe for that pretty please?0 -
Wow, you are all so so talented! These cakes are amazing!
I have a wedding cake to do in August - 4 tiers! (plus a 3" separator and a 7" topper! - its going to be HUGE!)
I can't seem to post any pictures on here to show you mineNothing is impossible...0 -
These cakes are great. :T
I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday last year. A pink dinosaur made from a madeira baked in a pyrex bowl then covered in icing. It was my first attempt at anything other than a basic round cake which is why it's a bit dodgy!
It's her 3rd birthday this Saturday and I'm working full time so don't have as much time as last year but will hopefully make a small round cake surrounded by fairy cakes as petals.0 -
Wow just found this thread and i can't believe the cakes on here. You are all amazing. I want to make a pink princess one (like the belle one) for my daughters birthday in Nov but will definately have to practise a lot before then!!. Where would be the best place to get pink roll out icing from? Also does anyone have an easy recipe for the buttericings on cupcakes?. I have only decorated one cake and that was last week for fathers day. It was my first attempt and i don't really want to show it after seeing all the ones on here as its pants but i will!!!V 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550

Carrot cake:
Hi,
I love the look of this carrot cake and it is my Mum's 50th in a few weeks so might have a go at making one! Just wondering how you actually make the little carrots on the top please?
Thanks
JenI love comping! Just waiting for the call from ITV!

I buy my coloured icing from a Cake Decorating shop, if you don't have any near you, then there are a few cake decorating shops online where you can buy it.
