for anyone looking for inspiration i find the best tool is google images.

just go to google - type in what cake you want a pic of, and then at the top of the page, there is the 'images' tab - click that and it will bring up loads of cakes that you can try to replicate

Hi everyone, I am loving seeign all the pictures of the cakes, i am still reading through this thread and the cash from baking thread, I was wondering if anyone coudl recommend me a nice piping bag, My daughter has cheap one i picked up in the spuermarket, but it is fraying etc, was lookgin at the silicone one from lakeland, but the reviews were not very favourable, and pointers would be helpful :)

for ease i prefer disposable icing bags or sandwich bags. yes its more expensive in the long run, but you dont get greasy hands and weak seams - also means if you need 5 colours, you dont have to keep washing out your one or two decent bags

i use greaseproof paper cut into a triangle and then made into a cone.
just snip the end off and insert your nozzle, cheaper, cleaner and my godsend! LOL

ive had many piping bags...they seep, get sticky, never seem to be 'greaseproof' once washed and split down the seam!

Vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting, complete with sugar stars and a mini egg!

My friend accepted the £20 price tag straight away, no fuss whatsoever, I'm really giddy as to how these have gone, its the first proper order I've done and it couldn't be better!!

Knithappens, my mum bought me a Tala icing set for Xmas, and I've used it a few times, but it is a pain to wash out. Tonight these were done with some disposable bags, and they were really good, I got 20 from ebay for £3.99 with free postage.
You're so very special, I wish I was special

I have to admit I have cheated with the frosting (as I am quite hopeless at making it myself at the moment, this is something I need to concentrate on) but it is from Morrisons, its there own make frosting, comes in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla and its £1.69 a tub. Each tub did about 18/19 cupcakes so worth the money really. I'll take a photo of the empty tub and put it up later so you can see what it looks like.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments, I've still got a stupid grin on my face!! LOL :)
