off to ice some cupcakes and make some cake pops. Oh and just a tip, used a spring action icecream scoop to fill the cupcake cases with, its so much easier and way quicker!!!0

The cake pops are fab.. bit spooky because I decided I was going to make some for my boyfriends 21st birthday after finding out about bakerella.. then a few days later, saw that someone had posted about cake pops on here!
Anyway my question is, anyone know where to buy the lolly sticks from other than the internet as I'm running a bit low on time! Thought they'd have some in lakeland but when I looked yesterday could only find the ice lolly pops and I'd rather the white rounded ones?
Also, with the chocolate/candy melts debate. Is it possible to cover them with chocolate without ruining the whole point of cake pops?
Thanks!0 -
Coffee stirrers make good lolly sticks, but I've not tried them myself.
You can use chocolate to coat the pops, but you need to temper it, to get the consistency right, which is a gaff, but not impossible. I find the candy melts work a lot better as they give that lovely crack when you bite into them. They also help support the weight of the cake on the stick too.
Can we have some piccies please0 -

Any suggestions of wehre to find or what to use to keep the cost down?0 -

How do you make lemon meringue frosting? Sounds lovely. Is it just lemon butter cream with crushed meringue?0
