Just a thought, are you cooking the cake in one cake tin or 2 sandwich tins? I was told recently that sometimes this happens when using sandwich tins and that it was always better to bake it in one cake tin and then cut in half.

    Hi
Yes I do use two tins and sandwich together dont trust myself to make one and cut it in half it would end up looking like the alps :rotfl:I have just bought a cake slicer with the metal wire so will give this a try and see what happens dont quite know what the difference wil make as the parts I stick together are always flat.
Will still have a go though as I have bought some proper icing nozzles which I am dying to try.

Hi, I made some chocolate cupcakes last week and have lost the recipe for the topping I used, it was like a chocolate buttercream but with less butter if that makes sense - the kids don't seem to like too much butter icing.

From poor memory a small amount of butter was heated with castor sugar, then cocoa and icing sugar added. I thought i'd saved the receipe but hadn't :(

    Any ideas anyone

    Thanks

hi me again, yet another question. Does anyone use rejuvinator fluid? i have used it with lustre dusts etc. ive seen that it is bascially food standard Iso-propyl alcohol, which is 99.9% pure. If you buy the pure Iso-propyl alcohol (99.9%) is it bascially the same thing? just larger amounts for the same price? From what i have read they seem to be exactly the same.
    Has anyone done this?
Im thinking about using it more on gum paste with the dusts and tints.

    Hope that makes sense lol
    Thanks

AnnieH - The cake pops look deeeee-licious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :T

zippybungle - I love the cupcakes!!! I'm hoping to make similar ones with easter eggs at my toddler group this week :)

I haven't posted in a while (things have been very difficult with DS at the moment... autism can be so challenging!) but I found time to make lemon meringue cupcakes for my Mums birthday which were delicious! I did have issues with the frosting (!) as the nozzle clogged due to the crushed meringue I added.... the blocked nozzle did create pretty little 'ribbons' of frosting as it came out though which did look rather pretty, so not all was lost!!!!
