It was free from my energy provider, npower. You can borrow them from libraries (in leics and derbyshire that I know of so I am guessing elsewhere), or if you wait a month or so till I have got bored you can borrow mine :D. Having read the paperwork it is a 'smartpower energy monitor'. It has a transmitter thing that clips round one of the meter wires and a wireless receiver that says in pence, kwh etc how much we are using.

"Him Indoors" got a British Gas energy monitor at the last car boot: also, we've picked up those plugs that turn everything off at once for £1. So it's worth keeping an eye open for boxes and devices with a gas and electricity company logo as it may be useful for :money: purposes.

Healing and chill out vibes for those that need them: also, a large supply of sticks for black dogs to chase as well. Get 'em out the house:D

    Morning all

Grumswifie I have a sheepskin feather duster style one which I used as it squashes down. There is also something called a flatmate - lakeland is where I got mine years ago which is a flat long piece of plastic which is covered in a felt like fabric HTH oh and some I can get my duster hanging out both side and move that up and down but we have the long tall radiators

mummyto5 and mumoftwo hope you both have lovely birthdays

First on my list is dailies, then hope to:

    put washing on
    ring hospital
    hoover the stairs
take DS1 to get some clothes
    make a cake
decide on something to cook for dinner
sow some beetroot and spring onions
    tie in peas
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair

Can I ask all you knowledgeable flyladies how I clean behind radiators? Do I need a long skinny brush? There is loads of manky dust stuck ont he top of them under the grill bit and I can't get it off to get in about!
Any/all advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks guys

I use a long handle feather duster, just moved in a few months back and I think the previous tenants where allergic to cleaning (3-4inch mold on window), back of radiators thick with dust etc etc

The feather duster works a treat! I had to use it on each radiator then shake it outside it was that thick!

Right off to iron some trousers as I've been gardening and the ones I was wearing have got extremely mucky :D but I have had a lovely morning (quite as kids are at school) but must get going as I need to do school run soon and I need some black bags to do my dance then it's a quick bite to eat and then I'm off to get my eye brows & lashes tinted at 1, so I will see ya all later.

    Happy Flying......

I have a thing that looks like a long bottle brush (I think it's made from goat hair or something random) and that works very well for cleaning down the back and inside the 'fins' on the inside of the radiator. A feather or fluffy duster works for the dust on the top bits inside the grill.

You know you're a true flylady when it's the dirt inside the radiator that's concerning you!:D

    Hi all.
Sorry I didn't post yesterday; 14:30 snuck up on me before I realised, and we had to go out and pick up my meds and do a freezer shop in Morries. Then when we got to the surgery to get the prescription, they were shut from 12:00 to 17:00, so had to go and do Morries and then go back.
All 3 levels done for yesterday though – partly due to the bed already being done for this week.;)

    Happy belated birthday Serena

    Happy Birthday mummyyof5 and mumofjusttwo.

MaisyMoo ow, that sound nasty with the mirror:(. Hope the ankle is OK today.

Lots of posi-vibes for ajmoney's OH

Feel better vibes for Toots also for LadyL and Diva and anyone else who needs them. Special cough-free vibes for Piggers.

Oh and I am holding a collection for a paper bag to shake toots up in :D fancy giving us all a fright like that! Seriously I hope things are a lot better today and that it has not delayed your escape at the end of the week. We shall have to organise an escape committee and start digging tunnels to get you out ;)
I can loan you a bloke with a shovel if that'd help? Just don't let him overdo it, he's a desk-jockey, not a manual worker.:o Oh, and keep him supplied with tea. LOTS of tea.:D

.... as for telling, I was right in my suspicions... one of my colleagues has announced that he's fallen in love with me ... but at least I was prepared, and hopefully I'm dealing with it OK. Not as well as I should, but hopefully without too much fall out.
Oh my! Well, whatever happens, I hope it works out happily for all concerned, iyswim.:o

I use my trusty lambswool-onna-stick. It's over 20 years old (Mr LW bought it when he first had the bungalow, January 1990) and a tad threadbare now, but it still does the job.:)

I really ought to get on with the bathroom, but Sidney's alseep on my feet....

I know, I feel like a grown up now! Still can't get the grill thing on the top of the bathroom radiator off. It looks like there is a family of yetis living in there!
