    Thanks Kel,

I am trying to be positive, I really am! It could have been so much worse if I didn't have savings. I have left my car at the garage and haven't heard from them yet what is going on although I do trust them.

On the upside I just logged in to Quidco and they have finally validated my Npower cashback from April - £45 :). OH has done his manly 'you tell me how much it is and I will pay' thing but he gave me loads of money when I had to have the brake hoses done in June so I don't want to take his money again.

I think realistically speaking, I have to face facts.....The chances of me actually clearing my debt with my Dec bonus and savings to that point is looking increasingly slim, verging on not going to happen. BUT, that's not to say I wont try my hardest!

There are two trump cards I have up my sleeve, the first is that I currently purchase company shares through my gross pay. I have paid £400 in to date and could sell them back to the company any month I wanted to although I would then have to pay tax/NI on the refund amount (would still leave me a good £300). I don't really want to do this as I buy shares at £1.40 and at our last share deal the shares were purchased by an investor at £3.60 - so quite a profit.

The other option is to cash in DD's (not doing well at all) endowment savings plan......not something I really want to do although *IF* I did cancel it and get a refund I would view it more as a loan and then set up a new bank based savings account and just set up a standing order from my salary every month. I need to look through the figures because I am sure last time I checked...I would have earnt about £150 more to date by having it in a normal savings account, even with the stupid interest rates.

My car is definately getting to that age where things are all going to need replacing soon, the clutch is on it's way out, it will prob need a new exhaust in Jan for the MOT and maybe a new tyre or two. I really need it to last another 2 years until my credit history is clean and I could look into my options of buying something newer. Ho-hum

    Hi Jody,
That's awful news about your car, fingers crossed it's not too expensive. It's such a worry when things like that happen :(
Hope you have a better week

Thanks Jules...I knew it had to happen as I had that awesome week where everything was going so great!

Told boss what was happening earlier, fortunately I had brought my laptop home last week so at least I can do some bits here rather than using annual leave.

Just praying it doesn't cost hundreds!

    Good morning diary (and readers),

This morning has been a bit of a palava, I had a nice little lay in thinking I was just going to be working from home then mum rang me to say DD wasn't well so could I come over and work from here! She had to come and pick me up and when I got here it took 10 minutes to get on her wireless. Must count myself lucky though that I have the ability to work from home :).

Checked the bank this morning and my boss had paid my expenses cheque into the bank on friday, it hasn't cleared yet but at least it saves me the hassle. Also had some good news...an email from my line manager authorising a £300 bonus for my exam passes in June. It's not an extra bonus as such because I would have got it in Dec but the timing is good. The garage called this morning to say it's my thermostat housing thats leaking and it's costing £180 ish to do :(. It has to be done and it could have been worse I guess! They don't know what's wrong with my brakes though, they say it all looks fine .

I get paid friday and need to put £20 in brothers card as it's his birthday tomorrow and then £20 for petrol, both are covered by the £45 that's in my purse so I will have to temporarily take some money out of savings for the car but will put in what's left in my current account (£46), my small change (£48) and my expenses cheque (£65) so I have almost covered the car and then the net bonus amount can be a savings top up.....I know I am fiddling things a bit here but after saving so hard to smash my target I really want an awesome figure by my 30th Sep deadline. :rotfl:

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I will do some diary catch up in a little while

    xx

I am determined I am going to make it there next year, it's somewhere I have always dreamed of going!

Car cost £182.38 :( but it is fixed! I think my poor fish is going to die today, he looked awful this morning. I have tried my best to keep him going but I think it's just mission impossible. Very sad.

Quite relieved to be back in the office and back to 'normality' today, lots to catch up on. Got a work fun night out on Friday with a quiz, should be interesting.

    Roll on payday :D

Well fish is still alive....just. I've put food in for him and he doesn't even seem to have the energy to eat it :(. I almost wish he would just die so I'm not prolonging the inevitable.

Mum also managed to upset me earlier, she said I had starved him to death (which is pretty close to the truth, although obviously it was never my intention and I have tried so hard to get him to eat) and thought it was funny..........I didn't. I dropped my brothers birthday card round after work and she knew she had pee'd me off. She apologised but it put me in a bad mood for hours .

Realised I haven't updated my spending diary for ages, oops! I think I am too far in to September now so plan is to start afresh for Oct. I have already decided to buy two xmas presents when I get paid so the little stash is getting bigger. Hit over £10 on scratchy today but will keep going till end of Nov. Just off to visit valued opinions to see if I can get some surveys, realised I have had £30 out so far this year which isnt bad :)

    Morning,

My Mandarin fish is on his last legs :(, I had to remove him from the tank this morning and put him on his own. He is well past saving. I'm gutted. I know most people will be thinking 'it's only a fish' but he is a lovely little fish with a lot of character and I feel very guilty that I haven't been able to provide for him properly.

    Trying to be positive...

I did a 75p survey on VO last night so am halfway to another voucher and got 50p on scratchy this morning. Forgot that I paid for parking at college last week so that's another £9 to come on my next expenses. We have no packed lunch stuff at home so I am having to buy lunch at the moment which is a bit of a pain. Hopefully OH will get some shopping later this week.

Might go through my CD's at the weekend and put some on Ebay, if they don't sell there then they can go on music magpie I reckon. Managed to put all my small change in the car this morning, it weighs a tonne!!
