I thought about making lots of truffles this year for Xmas, I always used to make them
. The only thing I am not looking forward to this year is the whole families issue. My grandad died on Xmas day two years ago so I don't want to leave mum on her own, she mentioned us all going to her for dinner this year but OH said he wants to stay at home! So it looks like I will be doing dinner again this year and having my mum and brother over
. The only problem I foresee is the MIL, she wont come to us as OH's brothers and sister tend to go to her at some point during the day so she also expects us to go there, that means that we can't drink until we have been there! Perhaps I will remind OH that he said he wanted to stay at home this year so we wont be going to his mums either
(although I can't see that working!).
DD's camera came yesterday :T. It has some marks on the bottom which I am a little disappointed about BUT I did pay less than half of the current selling price and I am sure she wont notice/care.
Last day in office today as on a Tax course tomorrow and Friday, just counting down the days until payday now. Must get organised and pay my change into the bank :rotfl:

I LOOOOVE Christmas too
I really look forward to lots of long family lunches. Families issue is tricky though, we were with my family last year, so this year it's DH's family, which I don't really look forward too that much. Still I think we'll be staying with my family for a couple of days, since we'll have moved further away, so there'll be plenty of family time there too.
Plus it's my birthday on Boxing Day :beer:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

Don't be grump - it's only 2 days till your holiday (jammy s0d!) :rotfl:. My OH doesn't like xmas either, actually most men I know don't like it, perhaps it's a man thing?

It must be a man thing! Boxing day, now that's a winner! Football and left over food and drink

I wish my OH loved xmas, he is getting better because I don't give him a choice :rotfl:. I have worked out that xmas makes me feel broody too, I took DD to Santa's Magical Kingdom last year which was great fun, they had loads of fake snow and people in costumes! DD knows Santa isn't real but she likes to believe I think. I considered going to Lapland Uk this year which is supposed to be amazing and they have Reindeer and Huskies (I'm getting all excited just typing about it!) but it's about £60 each , so not very MSE! Also think I might be just dragging DD along, not convinced she is even interested anymore. I NEED little kids to take....hence the broodiness
.
Might do pantomime on Xmas eve though, I meant to book panto tickets last year but managed to book tickets to a theatre group musical intead - DOH! Forutnately it was good and we all enjoyed it

Well the £50 has been transferred to savings! Was hoping someone at work would pay my expenses cheque in for me but I can't see it in my account and I know the guy who normally goes to the bank went home sick yesterday so I might have to do it next week.
Went to mums last night to see her and DD, played snakes and ladders and a knowledge memory game then DD tested me on my times tables (I rule!) and I did her spellings and times tables with her. Didn't get home till 8.30pm so had a shower and did nothing! Was at college yesterday and today and didn't spend so much on lunch this time :A. Went into town and lunch and bought mum a nice Cancer Research sponsored dressing gown ready to tuck away for Xmas
. Almost have another £10 on bingo but I keep having problems with the site, when I try and do the scrathie it shows a screen saying I have been inactive then when I close down and go back in it says I've already done my card for the day . Don't want to query it and flag up the fact that I only ever go there for the free 10p :rotfl:.
Mum gave me loads of 20p's again last night so they are in the change bottle! Working tomorrow night so that's some more pennies for the cause, have decided to treat myself to a hair cut next month. I think I've done really well with my savings over the last three months and I can 'afford' it, my hair hasn't been cut for 6 months now so it desperately needs it.
Oh and I got my first 'posting medal'...guess that's for hitting 750 :T

:T Medal:T!
When the bingo site did that to me I just simply deposited £10 and than withdrew it when I had appr. £25 ( I didn't need to play through the deposit money), maybe worth a try?0 -
Well...I knew it, I just bl00dy knew it! Last night I left for work, drove about 5 miles down the motorway and just happened to glance down at the temperature gauge which was at MAX temp . Was miles away from the next junction so had to pull over on the hard shoulder
. Was trying to get hold of OH but both his phones were switched off so called mum in a bit of a panic
.
Had to call the RAC out and they said it could be up to an hour! OH says it's weird because he suddenly realised his phones weren't on so he switched both on and instantly got a call from my mum to say I was broken down on the hard shoulder :rotfl:, he reckons he subconciously knew I needed help
. In all fairness the RAC got to me just after my OH did. There was no water in the engine at all , RAC man (who funnily enough I had met before when he changed my battery) filled it right up and did some examining, turns out my water pump is leaking . It's only a slow leak but he said it's obviously been leaking for quite a while and has just run out of water. The RAC man followed me back to my mums so now, not only did I miss a nights work equating to £60, I've also got the new water pump to pay for
:(:(:(:(:(:(:(.
It's just blinking typical, I was doing so well with savings and was totally expecting to hit the £900 mark which would have smashed my target. I don't know how much the car will cost to fix, I know I am fortunate that I have the money there to pay for it to be fixed but it's just so annoying!
I am a grumpy Jody today

SOrry to hear about your car Jody -I suppose you have to take comfort in the fact you have money there to do it and it isn't being added to a debt and that is all because you are doing so well. xOrange Fairy
