    Hi Jody,

Glad to hear you're on your way to feeling better now.

Don't worry bout the spending too much, I'm sure you'll get it back on track soon enough. It's hard when your out of the office doing something different and not feeling well too.

Your savings total is fantastic:T You've smashed that target and it's not even the end of Sept yet!

Shame about the wedding, can't believe they spent so much money and that it was so rubbish

    Hi peeps,

Oh I am sooooo tired! I worked last night at the pub, there were three of us working and there was a 5 piece Jazz/Swing band, they were really good and I think they are really expensive if you want to book them on a Fri/Sat night but quite reasonable on a sunday! I got home about 11.40pm but had to get up at 6.30am this morning for the two hour drive to London

Definately need an early one tonight :D. Just filled in my mileage claim which is a nice £56 to add to my pot plus £9 for parking which will buffer my bank balance. I ordered DD a digital camera for Xmas at the weekend, I had been thinking about it for a while and finally took the plunge. I got her a Fuji Z20FD in hot pink, it's a refurbished one direct from Fuji with a 12 month warranty...all for £40, didn't think that was too bad at all :T. I've well underway with my Xmas shopping now and actually haven't got much more to do really.

Will try and catch up with everyone later

Well done on Xmas shopping, I have started it already. Sorted out OH xmas present (electric shaver), plus his birthday in April (F1 tickets:eek:,thanks God I bought it before we bought our house!), plus 2 kids sorted already, only 4 more to go:). Xmas is nearly here!

I can't wait for Xmas :j, I had my first ever real tree last year and OH has promised me another real one this year :D. Normally we all go mad with presents but I'm really trying to stop that this year as no one can afford it. I'm not really sure what to get OH (already got him an Xbox game) and I know he wants some more aftershave but no idea apart from that. I only have OH, DD, Mum and my brother to buy for so it's not a huge amount.

I'm very close to 2 of my work colleagues and we always get each other gifts, the past two years running my male colleague has gone and got me Chanel cosmetics , he is such a sweetie! Last year I got eye liner, mascara and a lip gloss - it must have cost a fortune. I've never had designer make up before so it's a real treat and we love waiting to see if we get gold boxes :rotfl:. We also do a secret santa at work, there is only 9 of us so we all know each other well enough to get a good gift.

Argh, I am all christmassy now :o

Am I the only one not excited for xmas?

I don't know, I just find the whole day just too much effort LOL - I like it for the Snowboarding, but the effort to be happy and enjoy the day and stuff, I don't know, it's always just a day I'd happily skip over. Meh, Adam is grumpy today!

I am doing a hamper for Xmas-friends, collegues, and family members will be sorted. Will make tomato chutney, some kind of jam, gingerbread cookies and ferrero roche-it will be very MSE. I just can't be bothered with buying staff, kids are the only ones on my list plus OH for presents, the rest will have to appreciate what I make :).
  • Ooh, i'm loving all this Christmas talk :j:j:j I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited as it'll be my very first christmas in my own home :D:D:D Hope to make it very special and if i'm brave enought maybe (that's a BIG maybe!) have dinner at ours.

Glad you are feeling much better - there's so much of it going around at the moment. I've had the cold but nothing else thankfully as that wiped me out enough!

Well done on the savings too - you'll be debt free in no time and in reality you are actually only £5683.71 in debt if you take off your savings total.....wow....I reckon you'll be well under the 5k mark by xmas! Woo hoo! Well done you :T:T:T

I remember our first Xmas in our home 3 years ago:). It was lush:). We had chicken as couldn't afford turkey, had whisky and coke cause the bottle lasted longer than the wine one and it was just great. Very relaxing and loving:). We've been on our own every Xmas since than and it's the best ever, no overeating, no annoying relatives :). Our families are abroad, we usually visit them early January or mid December but we are on our own for Xmas.

I must be a man then too cause I also would quite happily give Christmas a miss! :D

I have volunteered to work in the pub that day cause I seem to be the only one who doesn't mind working that day :)
