Poor Mandy died yesterday
.
It's very quiet on here at the moment! Must be because of everyones house moves
.
I fekt really sick last night so went to bed quite early although I didn't seem to sleep very well. Had to borrow some money from OH this morning as I need to buy lunch and I have no cash left on me. I only wanted £2 and he gave me everything in his pocket which was about £13 :rotfl:.
Got some boring training this morning but hopefully it wont take that long. Need to write a few letters today - one to DD's school about our Centreparcs trip and one to bank people about my savings for DD.
Roll on the weekend

I'm still here!
Sorry to hear about Mandy
Doesn't sound like there was much you could have done.
I've noticed it's very quiet here at the moment too, just a few of us on regularly.
Is your savings total going to be updated soon Jody? It's nearly your deadline for savings and I think you've done so well.VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Thanks Pennies,
We were going to bury Mandy but OH said as he had spent all his living days in the water it made sense to put him back there, OH took him to the river today, it's a good job we don't have a dog that's died as I think we would fall apart! We have got all emotional over a fish
.
I'm going to do my final update on Thursday next week as thats the last day of Sept, I'm paying in small change tomorrow and will pay over my net bonus tomorrow as well as it's payday. I am working Sunday night so will have some extra money to move over. Still hoping for a good total as the bonus money replaces what the car cost so I am still roughly where I was before my trip to the garage!

Good Morning World!
The boss emailed me this morning to say we should all try and have a chilled out day, in my books that equates to - no work :rotfl:. Payday today!! Been and sorted out transfers to various accounts etc and moved over the extra money from my bonus.
Got an email from M&MDirect this morning with a £10 off voucher so bought OH some new Bench boxers for xmas (I get them for him every year) and a nice military style Bench polo top for £20.97 including delivery
. In true MSE style I have all my Xmas purchases on a spreadsheet so I can monitor what I have spent. Already done a 50p survey on VO and will do scratchy in a sec.
School viewing last night was long but interesting, I really liked the school and DD seemed to but she is still adamant she wants to go to a different school because her friends are going there. I am hoping she wont actually like that school when we go there because it is so big and quite scary (I sound so mean!). Going to go on a jaunt after lunch...to collect a parcel with a work colleague, then to book our xmas meal and pay the deposit - which I will reclaim and then to the bank to do work banking and pay in my small change...phew!
After work tonight we are meeting up with a girl who worked here last year for a while but now works in another hospital, we try and catch up every few months
. She is coming to our staff quiz night as well where work are laying on a buffet and some free drinks so hopefully it will be good.
Hope everyone is well, not long till final savings update :T

Oh, I completely understand your daughter, I was devastated when I got into secondary school and I only new one boy who I fancied for years before:o. But as scary it was I found new friends and trully enjoyed being a teen
.
Yay for not working 'hard', for me it's the hardest day of the week but 5 more hours and I can go home!
Have a nice weekend!0 -
Thanks!
Just been on the jaunt and finally paid my change in although I was 24p short on one bag
, not sure how I managed that!
I know I said that I would update on the 30th but I can't see my savings total changing before then, I am working sunday night but I need to get some razors and beauty stuff so I wont pay it straight into the bank and will add in what's left after purchases for next month.
OK, soooooooo, here we go:
Target Savings: £600.00
Actual Savings as at 24th September £951.65 :j
I managed to beat my target by a whopping 58.6%
. It would have been much less due to the car cost but fortunately I had the bonus for my exam passes to cover it. The extra shifts in the pub have definately helped and I've really been watching what I spend. I am VERY pleased, especially as I have even managed to buy a few Xmas presents along the way, I don't feel like I have missed out at all over the past few months. It just proves it is possible if you put your mind to it.
So where does this leave me?
I have projected, from my current debts, that IF I can get a reduced settlement on my Cabot debt that I would need around £4.5k to pay off my debts. I still can't reasonably guesstimate my year end bonus although it looks like it will fall some way short of the amount I had hoped for. I am trying to bear in mind that I still have quite a few presents to buy but am hoping to hit another £10 on VO and I already have £10.61 on scratchies so this will really help. I don't want to set my 30th Dec target so high that I can't realistically achieve it but I also now know what I can do when I am focussed.
For that reason, I have decided that my 3 month target from 1st Oct to 31st Dec is going to be £750
. I have managed to save an average of £317 a month so a target of £250 a month will leave me some 'present' allowance.

Thanks Kel!
One thing I totally forgot about and suddenly remembered this morning whilst laying in bed was the balance on my centreparcs holiday . I think it's £135 to be paid by mid November, that throws a middle sized spanner in the works as I hadn't factored that in on my target
. I think October will have to be an extra frugal month (although I have a wedding to go to which is miles away!) to see if I can claw some of that back. I almost bought more presents yesterday but managed to stop myself....after all, it is still only September and there is no need to go mad just yet!
Having a very lazy day today, got to go shopping later as we have no food in the house and until we go I can't do any washing as I'm out of tablets, what a shame
.
Todays positive news is that OH's work colleague who has a reef tank has decided to break it down and get a smaller one, he has said we can take as much of his rock as we want. To buy live rock it's about £12 per KG, I need about 13kg for my new tank which would have cost a substantial amount . I still have lots of pumps and bits left over from my old tank so I should only need to buy some sand when the time comes (that's expensive enough in itself!). OH spoke yesterday and said that once the new tank is up and running we would like to get another Mandy as they are so beautiful. I think we will get a female this time and call it Mindy
. That wont be for a while though so I can get the bigger tank all settled and full of little pods for her.
Feeling positive at the moment, I was hoping to go to Maldives in May but that is looking a bit too ambitious but there is always September :rotfl:

Hmmm, not sure if I mentioned anywhere else in my diary but for quite some time I have been considering learning spanish. I admire people who can go abroad and speak the language. I looked at tutors but most cost around £20 an hour . The local Adult Eduction Centre did some courses but they were 22 or 24 weeks long and with doing my Accountancy studies I thought it would be a bit much to try and do both!
Just happened to Google it and found out that Kent County Council run 11 week Spanish courses at a community centre that's pretty much on my way home! They have just enrolled the new course but I am thinking they might do one starting in the new year, that would fit in perfectly as I will have a break between Dec and March from my ACCA work. It's £103 for the course, if I decide to go I might ask for money towards it for Xmas from my family
