  • I'm very jealous about the zoo! I'm sure the animal adoption will go down very well. Sounds like a really good (and cheap) day out

I like the Zoo as well, the other zoo I planned to visit is much more expensive so will wait and see whats left of the summer fun budget!

Just been for a brisk 45 min lunch time walk, was quite nice, lots of fields, horses and meadows. The terrain was also quite challenging, lots of little hills and one massive hill and I can feel I've had a bit of a work out :j. Planning to go Mon/Weds/Fri next week if the weather stays nice :D

    Good Morning all :D

Just been on online banking and moved money around, finished the month with £250 in savings so not as great an increase as I had hoped but an increase all the same! So I have to save £350 over August & September which may be tougher than I originally thought, especially with summer holidays . I can but try!

Got woken up at 9am by loads of kids being noisy outside, I know kids can be noisy but there is no way my mum would ever let us go outside that early and make such a racket . My best friend is coming over at 12 and we are going for lunch which will be nice, I had a massive KFC last night which was very naughty so got to have a decent lunch :rotfl:.

Am working tonight and out at the military show tomorrow but really want to try and list some bits on fleabay as I think it is a free listing weekend. I have a few bits I wanted to start at maybe £2 or £3 so it's the ideal time to do it, maybe I do that early tomorrow evening? Also noticed I have £10 off first online shop for Asda and Tesco so might give that a whirl this month, hopefully it will avoid temptation and I can meal plan more easily - thats the plan anyway :D

Just off to do scratchy so will catch you all later

    x

Is it really Sunday night already? That sucks!

Had a lovely lunch yesterday with my friend and finally got to meet her boyfriend (after 7 months!), we sat outside by the river and had a BBQ style lunch. My friend bought my lunch for me and I bought our drinks so I only spent £4.40 :D. Had to work last night and it was really busy until about 9.30 but on the plus side it stayed quiet so I was home by midnight for once! On the down side for some reason I have got a very tender lower back today :(

Went to the war and peace show today and I have to say I was dreading it, military stuff just doesn't interest me in the slightest but I have to say it was actually quite enjoyable! It was lovely and sunny and it was just nice to spend a day outside with my OH :), also helps that I found the most amazing fudge stall in amongst the uniforms :rotfl:. Two big bombers did a fly past and now I want to go to an airshow!! Might go to the one in Eastbourne next month as it is free and I am sure DD would quite like it!

On the money side of things - only spent about £4 today on drinks etc as OH insisted on paying for the rest! Got 40p on scratchies over the weekend. Just done my first ever online shop and I struggles to get to the required £50, just goes to show a lot of what I end up buying is just because I see it on the shelf! It should have been about £56 but got £10 off as it was my first order and I think I got loads! Also sat here earlier and was sure I had recieved a letter from Sky about saving money on our broadband if we committed to another 12 month contract. Decided to log into my account online and hey presto, agreed another 12 month contract and the price has dropped £2.50 a month :T. Not a huge amount but a reduction all the same! Had to buy more live fish food today but will update the amounts tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a good weekend x

If you want to see an airshow on the 21st august there's an excellent one in Shoreham (not sure how cloase to the south coast you are?) which is always fantastic! I go every year and love it. They have all sorts of planes, from fighter jets, to the old bombers and all sorts :D

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend and very MSE too, well done!

Glad you enjoyed the airshow more than you thought you would, have to say I don't think I would have been very excited bout going either!

The Farnborough airshow near me has also just finished - they have a week of practice, 5 days of flying for the trade show and then the public days in the Saturday and Sunday. The traffic round here has been horrendous and can't say I miss the sound of planes constantly flying over!

I think the adopt an animal gift is lovely. Have you found out if the miniature donkey is still in existence yet?! :rotfl:

    Hiya!

Beccie the zoo rang me yesterday but it was just to get my security code on my bank card, he never said anything about there being no Donkey so it looks like it is still in existence! :j

I did look at Shoreham Adam as we are only in Mid Kent so it's not a million miles away but unfortunately I am working the Saturday night so we would have to go on Sunday and it's going to cost almost £50 for the three of us :(. Will have to see how money is nearer the time!

Got my tesco home delivery last night, went quite smoothly actually and I will do it again without a doubt just because it's less hassle then getting to the supermarket! Had to get petrol and tobacco on the way home so with the shopping it was quite an expensive day, especially as I bought lunch at work - £2. My fish food has turned up at work today so at least I can feed my hungry fish when I get home :). I needed two fixing brackets for the LED fish lights I bought, they normally come with the lights but the guy didn't send me some and I have been looking for them everywhere but with no joy . Decided to phone the manufacturers to see if they list them for sale but they said they didn't and have arranged to send me 2 free ones instead :T. Very good customer service there.

Not much else to report really, work is busy as my assistant is on two weeks leave and I am so tired from a long and busy weekend!!

I'm back again, sorry, disappearing all the time-went for my brother's wedding:). It was a bit over the top but I enjoyed it after the 3rd whisky-coke ;).

I am not keen on airshows but my OH is so we're going for the Eastbourne one on the 13th. We booked accomodation (from martin's weekly email) in March, staying one night only with my OH's parents. It was very MSE and i'm counting on the good weather so can get a bit more brown :).

Your signiture is getting better and better month by month, you're doing very well!

How come it's going to cost you? We normally just park up near the show and just sit on the bank next to it, afterall, the airshow is in the air so you only have to look up to see the action LOL. There's a nice pub near the area where we go and sit on the grass and watch :)
