Wow, diving! That's something I'd love to have a go at someday
We went on several snorkeling trips when we were on honeymoon, but I'd never done it before so it took me several tries to get the hang of breathing etc, kept letting in water, DH thought it was hilarious! I really enjoyed it once I'd got the hang of the snorkel though, but some of the places we went I would have liked to go deeper for a better view.
Maybe I'll add it to the list for the dream holiday when we've paid off the CCs!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Good Morning!
I know what you mean about getting the hang of snorkelling Jules! I really struggled when I first did it but I guess its a bit like riding a bike in that once you know how to do it, you never forget! :rotfl:. I can't really tell you how much it cost me to get my Scuba Diver cert as I paid for diving/accomodation/transport all in one lump but I think to do the Open Water can be between £200 and £300 at a dive club.
I really enjoy the actual diving, it's just the kitting up and getting into the water bit that I am not so keen on but I think that comes with experience. Diving is one of those things that I think everyone should have a go at although I have got to say that you should always try it abroad as there is much more to see
Yesterday was an NSD :j and got 10p on this mornings scratchy. I have changed my signature as I want to try and save a fixed amount by a set date so picked £600 by end of September! I am 99% confident I can do that although I do have summer holidays coming up so it might be a bit tight.
Have a good day everyone :T

Well I took the trousers back last night and it was a jolly good job I did as that was the last of the 28 days for a refund, I can't believe it's been 4 weeks already!!!
Today was an NSD (I think..can't remember spending any money!) and at the moment I feel like this:
:j:beer::money::T:j:beer::money:
Let me explain why.......
Tonight I cooked my first ever curry and it was pretty damn good, OH is now very impressed with me .
BUT the best reason is.....I casually mentioned to OH that I want to go to the Maldives next year and showed him some pics of where I want to go and he said provided I pay my debt off... WE CAN GO! :j yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! I said I would pay for him as I know holidays aren't particularly his thing but he said he will pay for himself which is even better! I was looking at going early May which works out jus over £2,600 for 2 weeks for both of us. Hypothetically speaking, if I pay my debt off at beginning of January then I will have 4 paydays to save for it (although obviously we would have to pay before we go) which is totally do-able. So now I have lots of motivation to get saving and lose weight!
Also told OH rather than buy each other xmas pressies we will put some money aside for itMy dream may actually come true!!

Got up very early this morning as OH had to go on a course and I was worried my alarm wouldn't go off so decided to get up rather than go back to sleep! Went to Tesco and got lots of goodies (which my boss paid for) and it's Scampi for lunch again
Had both refunds for the taken back clothes come in now so have transferred those to savings, had to buy tea bags and washing powder this morning so spends today will be £10.26 plus tobacco because I forgot it this morning. Got £55 left in the bank which might leave me a tad tight but that depends on the car so will have to see how it goes next week.
Have a fab friday all

Hi Jody!
That's great news about the Maldives! That will be a great incentive to get that debt paid off and start saving up. Will be soooo jealous when you go!
I think for NSDs I would say you should count when you spend anything you haven't budgeted before, so I wouldn't count food and petrol so long as they are within the amount you set for the month. That way NSDs would be an incentive not to spend that money that you know you're supposed to have left over at the end of the month!
Enjoy your scampi! I'm jealous, I love scampi!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

I am glad you agree with my way of thinking Beccie
The scampi was great but I had been into Tesco in the morning with my bosses world cup sweepstake winnings and bought loads of sweets, cakes and biscuits so by the time it got to lunch I was totally stuffed!!
On the way to my mums last night I bought the weekly tobacco pouch and got my mum some flowers, they were only £3 but she was very happy with them :A. When we woke up today me and OH decided to go and get a cooked breakkie so we walked into town, had a massive cooked breakfast outside then walked along the river for a while before heading back to town. I got my mums birthday Mascara - £10.99  and some cleansing lotion/toothpaste so spent £19 in Superdrugand then a further £4 on cards and a gift bag which wasn't that bad really I suppose.
OH gave me a hadful of change earlier so that's in my pot, must be almost up to another £10 now but I will leave it for a while to build up. Did another survery last night on VO so almost up to another £10 and now at £11.70 on onepoll. Money for this week is going to be tight so I need quite a few NSD's to get me through to next weekend. Still got to pay my bagged up small change into the bank which I think is about £30 so may have to use that if need be.
Got lots of bits to sort out at home - washing, paperwork and finding ways to entertain a 9 year old in the summer holidays! Decided we will go for 2 proper days out and then 2 days doing free/cheap things like making cakes, going to the local museum etc. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful

I think local councils advertise things for free school hols on websites...perhaps just google local events....picnics are always a good one!
Fab incentive for hols next year - imagine being debt free and then a hols to the Maldives to top it offFunnily enough OH and I were chatting away re hols yesterday but nothing like yours, we're hoping to walk the Coast to Coast in May next year - will be hard but i'm already excited!! Not sure about other hols, depends on what we want to do to house once moved.
Well done on the savings lovely - you'll certainly be debt free at this rate!! x0 -
Oh and well done on the savings, that is good news!!!

Hi All
Having a really bad day, have almost burst into tears twice already.
Had a bit of a rubbish shift on Sunday night, had a bit of a nightmare with the Irish guy again - he was just being loud and rude and then I couldn't get the alarm to set. I did manage to get it to set but I left the blinking light on so then was trying to let my boss know.........getting a bit fed up with it already, I know I need to do it but it's just hassle I could do without.
Yesterday was awful, the car went in for service and I finally picked it up at 5.45pm yesterday and it cost me £282 . It needed all new brake hoses and fluid, tracking and balancing plus the service. I cried when they told me how much, I've worked so hard to try and be good with money and get some savings together and that phone call just wiped it all out in one go when I thought I was starting to make some headway. My mum gave me £100 which she said she was going to give me for our holiday next year but she would rather I had it now if it would help. Obviously I am very grateful for this and it has helped a lot but it just stressed me right out and I still feel tense.
JUst to add insult to injury, yesterday when I dropped the car off at the garage I noticed a MAHOOSIVE spider sitting inside the door by the window. I am not stupidly scared of spiders but this was so big that it made me shudder, I didn't have anything to get it out with so now I don't know if it is still in there or not. I'm worried it will suddenly appear when I am driving along and will cause me to have an accident.
Rubbish!!!!!!!
