Well done Jody, sub 7k is great, keep on going, you'll get there.. and way before December 2012 I bet.
I think your fish sound lovely. I've tried goldfish but couldn't bear having to clean the tank out, it was just about the worst job I could imagine!!! My brother had some fish but he's down to one now, I think it ate all the others!!
The hot weather is a great excuse for not doing the ironing / hoovering isn't it?!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
Thanks for your comments! Very pleased to be under £7k - it spurs me on but also worries me that maybe I wont be able to clear it this year as I am so reliant on that year end bonus
. All I can do is keep squirrelling money away and hope for the best
.
Did loads of boring fish stuff last night and added to the ironing pile (which I intend to clear tomorrow before going to work). Planning on having a quiet weekend so I don't spend too much as there are still two weeks till payday . Have got a bag in the car with the dress and trousers to return and am doing the trousers tonight after work. Have no idea at the moment how much I may have left for savings but I do still have £70 in my purse from last week and will have money from tomorrow night plus the small change at home.
Finally decided to book car in for next weekend or I will keep putting it off!
Hope everyone has a good day x

I HATE ironing, I've been ignoring mine for last week, hoping it will go or away or even iron itself, but of course it just keeps getting bigger instead! :rotfl:
Atleast it is only 2 weeks until your pay day, mine is 3 weeks :eek:VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -

Well done Kel on your sub £9k - we are getting there!! :T
It's been a few days since I updated, spends on friday were as follows;
£1 for chips at lunch
£5.77 for weekly tobacco
80p - papers and filters
65p - can of coke (i love cold coke but rarely have it so this was a naughty treat!)
We were lucky on friday as our head finance bod was down and he is a really nice, laid back guy. We have no air con in our office and it was getting so hot that he told our manager we should be allowed ot leave at 4pm :T. We actually left about half four but it was still nice to be out an hour and a half earlier. Went to mums and played badminton (badly) with my brother and daughter, then we had a chinese in the garden which was nice. Didn't have a late night as had to get up at 9am yesterday to go and swap some corals with a local fellow fish geek :rotfl:.
Popped into Morrisons on the way home as we had no veg, cereal or fridge stuff and only spent £22.97 which I was quite happy with, the freezer is still pretty full so no need to get more frozen bits. Managed to do quite a bit of ironing and housework yesterday before falling asleep on the sofa for 2 hours!
Worked in the pub last night and it was pretty hot and fairly busy, especially later on during the night. The notorious Irish travellers turned up so the front of house manager stayed with me to make sure they didn't give me any trouble. As it turned out, he was fine and quite chatty although he did tell me I could do with losing some weight . I know he has said this to the other staff and he didn't do it in a very nasty way so I laughed it off. Didn't get out of there till almost 12.15 and my poor back today is really hurting, I've been doing all sorts of weird stretches to try and loosen it up.
Nothing much planned for today, we were going to go to the park if it was nice but as the weather isn't great and I am not sure if I can handle the walk we probably wont, I have painted my nails a lovely bright orangey pink and am probably going to get ready for next fish tank water change. OH has said he wants a chinese tonight as he has this strange obsession with prawn balls :rotfl:, I haven't the heart to tell him I had one on friday! I might be able to force one down me.
Ok, money side - didn't do yesterdays scratchy as OH had the PC in bits but managed to do 2 today. Need to have a cheapish 2 weeks so I have money for savings although I have got to get mum a card and her mascara. OH has said he will buy my daughters birthday cake so that's less for me to pay out next month.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Well done on only having a can of coke - I think I'm addicted to the stuff, we buy a crate of it every week at Tescos!
And bloody cheek! Well done on showing such restraint though, I woould have said something! Was that the manager or a customer?!
Be careful changing the fish tank if you've painted your nails - wasn't that what prompted tank meltdown before?!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I weigh enough without drinking loads of coke :rotfl:, I rarely have it but I do enjoy a cold one during the summer!
It was a customer who said it but I gather he can be a bit like that, as he said it in a jokey way I decided to keep it lighthearted. I didn't do the fishwater in the end, decided to have a day of doing nothing so will do it tonight
My mum took the dress back for me yesterday so just waiting for the refund to show up in my account, I guess it will take a few days. Bought OH an xbox game to put away for Xmas as it was only £7.99 brand new, thought now might be a good time to start squirelling some bits away.
Finally had my contents insurance cashback validated through Quidco, have about £56 validated at the moment with another £45 tracking, it would be nice to recieve some of it soon as it will help pay for the car service.
Today was going to be an NSD but I need to get petrol....AGAIN . My car seems to be drinking it at the moment, I have only had the aircon on a few times but I must be losing about 30/40 miles in every £25 I am buying. Maybe the service will help?!
Feel like a bit of a standstill with money at the moment, probably because I don't want to bump up my savings to have to withdraw it all again (for the car). Really feeling like I need a holiday too! I know I went to Egypt diving in March but I had to get up at 7.30 every day to do learning or kit up so it was a long and tiring 10 days, not really a holiday! I would love to go to the Hilton Sharks Bay in Egypt but I have bob hope and no hope of that this year and I'm not sure I could even persuade OH to go next year as he isn't a big fan of holidays and I think our March trip has put him off Egypt for life
. Perhaps I need to find a 'holiday friend' to come along instead?!
Almost up to £10 again on VO and will use that to buy more xmas pressies when I can claim the voucher, look at me trying to be all organised!! :rotfl:
