Bless you, I hate that aching in your legs after working a busy shift!

Although on the upside a busy shift normally goes quickly :)

Your buying fish stuff does make me laugh! I know what it's like when you just can't resist having things for them!

I used to keep tropical fish and was up to six tanks at one point and even had a pet lobster called Shane.

When me and my ex split up it was a very amicable break-up and we split the tanks evenly between us and in the custody battle I got to keep the dog and he kept the lobster!

Since then though I've never set the tanks up again and have actually considered selling them to try and raise some extra cash. He since started doing the whole marine thing to and seems to have constant nightmares with things going wrong with them!

And you shouldn't worry bout not having a very MSE weekend, it's hard to stick to all the time! :D

My OH loves Lobsters and pipe fish! Marine fish are quite hard to keep just because there are so many variables with them, I do love them though and am really looking forward to setting up my 2nd tank although I am going to have to be much more organised with maintenance
    Hi lovely,

Don't worry about the not very MSE weekend....have a MSE week ahead instead ;)

I've been so bad of late (as you know!) so have started me a fresh diary and intend to plough on now!

Hope you have a good day xx

The MSE week sounds like a very good plan! I haven't got round to sending the default info over but it's first on my list tonight - after a shower as you dont want me sending you a 'smelly' PM :rotfl:

phew, lots of things were happening while I was away:). Ouch for sunburn, I have very good skin but still use factor 50 suncream at all the time as I get really brown really quickly. OH thinks I'm mad but I just can't bear pain:(

Spain was lovely though, we had great weather and lots of food (oops) and rest. Our flight got delayed on the way back to Gatwick so ended up transferring ourselves to Stansted at 1 in the morning. It wasn't very MSE as we had return train ticket to the city centre from Gatwick and needed to buy bus ticket from S. But try to reclaim it through our travel insurance (well, it pays £20 for delayed flights, ours was delayed for 12 hours so we might get it back.

Well, anyway, better get going, I need to work... Have a nice day

Welcome back hun, glad that you had a lovely time in Spain and got the weather as well!! What a nightmare with the delays tho, I hope you manage to get something from the insurance company :). I tan really quickly fortunately so don't have to be in it for long but I definately overdid it on Monday and am starting to peel in little patches

Firstly, apologies for not doing my normal morning catch up with everyone, I will try and come and see you all tonight! I didn't do much on Saturday, just got some bits for the fish but got overcharged by £3 and was too much of a wimp to go back and ask for money back :o, I'm such a moron!

I went out for lunch with a friend on Sunday, lunch itself only cost about £8 for food and drink and I was being so good just window shopping.................then my mum turned up! :rotfl: Mum came down to give me some trousers she had picked up for me but then she dragged me into a shop to look at dresses as I purely mentioned in passing that I wanted some shortish dresses to wear with leggings. I ended up in the changing rooms with 5 dresses in total. I ended up buying three but one is a long bright blue maxi dress and although it is nice, I'm not really a dress kinda girl and I think I just got carried away :(, didn't help that mum and friend were going 'oooh that's lovely'. I spent £53 on 3 dresses and didnt realise till I got home that the blue dress I don't think is me was £25 :eek::eek:. Well I found the receipt and it's going back for refund next weekend, I may even force my mum to take it back so I don't have to bear the shame :rotfl:. The other two dresses are nice and I am going to keep them as one is perfect for the two weddings that are coming up and my mum did buy me some new gladiator type sandals as well, bless her!

Also had to get some beauty essentials - shampoo/conditioner, make up remover pads, deoderant etc which was £11 ish but needed. Turned into an expensive day :(

Got into work last night after walking round town all day to be told we had live music on, my manager hadn't even told me which is a bit unfair. She had arranged for an older guy who does a minor managerial role to come and help for a few hours but in all honesty he was as useful as a chocolate saucepan! He even moaned at me for putting notes in the till 'the wrong way round' :rotfl:. As long as the money was in the till I don't really care. It was quite busy and the front of house manager/masquerading chef got absolutely hammered. Then the older guy who was supposed to be helping me decided to leave just after ringing for last orders and told the drunken one to lock up with me.......the drunken one then decided to call last orders again about 20 minutes later and all the staff who where there just drinking but not working started getting the hump with him for being drunk and making me work so late and it all got a bit stressed (ps I didn't get stressed, I was just trying to clear up!).

Didn't home till just before mid night after all that and my legs were so achey and sore, to think I was looking forward to a quiet shift!! :rotfl:

Got to take the other trousers back to Matalan tomorrow but am planning on a MSE week as Choc suggested to get back into the swing of things!!

Sorry to bore you all :D

Well done on deciding to take some bits back.

I was pretty good on my returns to littlewoods. Am only keeping one dress i need for a wedding. REALLY wanted the shoes though!! But my black shoes i have will do.

I am a wimp too - i asked for an adult and one child on the bus the other day (DD2 is free as under 5) It seems more expensive than i thought it should be and realised he had charged me for a ticket for DD2! I was too much of a wimp to get my money back!!

Thanks for your comment on my daughters names! I still love them, when i write them down on forms etc i smile that i am still really chuffed with their names!!

They are very pretty names and unusual, without being wacky :D

Bad few days, almost killed the fish AGAIN! Had to spect £32 on bits for them yesterday as my favourite fish is close to death as he has decided he will only eat a certain food...which must be live . Not his fault but I'm struggling to provide him with enough :(.

My mum is going to take a dress back for me at the weekend and also sew a hole that has appeared in my brand new trousers! I would take them back but we can't find the receipt :o. Got 50p on scratchy yesterday but the bank balance is looking pretty dire so might have to do some Ebay magic this weekend. Mum has told me all she wants for her birthday is a new mascara so I will get that next week and I still have loads of bodyshop stuff for her.

Last night my ankles started swelling up and getting very achey, OH's response was 'you aren't pregnant are you?', said in that you better not be sort of tone :rotfl:. Think it's just from standing up for pub on Sunday and the heat but I'd like to to clear off before the pub shift Saturday night!

Nothing else interesting to report really, counting down the days to payday and sorting out taking things back. Hope everyone is well

Sounds like it could just be the pub causing your ankles to swell! This heat doesn't help either!

Your fish sounds more fussy than me LOL

    Have a good day :)

    Hiya!!
It sounds like you're getting into the swing of things at the pub - which is great, not the nightmare it could have turned out to be after all! I took a load of stuff back to the shops yesterday, it was great, getting money back! I only had a few things but it worked out at nearly £45, :-)
I hope your ankles go down soon... I reckon it's the pub too, as well as the weather!
    Take care xx

    Hi!

I hope you don't mind me following your diary, I really like the path that your thread has taken, almost like a daily gossip session - I hope you don't mind me describing it that way!? :)

I totally sympathise with the swollen ankles/sore feet scenario, I used to do waitressing and you don't notice all the time on your feet while your working, but as soon as you stop and sit down it really kicks in!

    Best of luck

Welcome along pennies! :j Yup, it's quite become a daily gossip :rotfl:, I like it that way, much better then us all being down in the dumps!!

I checked my bank statement online today and somehow managed to miss about £30 of spends, as in they weren't in my diary, naughty me . Have added them on :o. Have agreed to swap one of my LED lights with a member of the geeky fish forum as we both have the colours that the other one wants :D, all we do is pay the postage on the light to each other and it saves Ebay fees so am pleased with that. A friend of mine is getting me quote today on a sump tank for my little fish tank....(am I boring you yet?). It really needs to be done and I have put it off for so long . I have no idea how much it's going to cost *insert rolling eyes smiley*

Think today might be NSD, at last!!!! :rotfl:

:rotfl:I actually agree that the majority of the fish stuff is boring but I just enjoy having a hobby and one that I know a fair bit about!!

Fish stuff turned up today so I will be playing with the tank again tonight, should really be doing the ironing but it's too blinking hot!! Not much else to report, did the scratchy this morning and got 20p but spent £2 on lunch today and £6.70 on the light postage but hopefully I will get the replacement one tomorrow :j
