Bless OH. Mine is pretty goodHe hangs out the washing in the mornings and washes up the breakfast stuff. Though he does lie in bed later than me.
I'm at £10.95 on one poll!! Was so pleased to get over that £10 mark too! Would love to get it to £40 for xmas but not sure it will get there in time. If not OH 's birthday is in Jan!
Have a great weekend xOrange Fairy

The last time my OH put the washing on the airer I ended up ironing everything because it was all scrunched up! Sometimes if you want a job done properly you have to do it yourself :rotfl:
Just been through bank accounts and made some small transfers into savings, think PAD style. Have worked out exact amount of Direct Debits and moved it around so I know what I have left this month - £416 ish which is for me, petrol and food. OH spent loads on shopping last weekend so the freezer is still really full but I will get fruit and fridge bits on Monday.
Already put some washing on and got 20p on the scratchy today :j, just checked my spare change pot and have £21 bagged up already and I think I have about £5 in coppers at my mums still. I also have £6 in my thrift pot. Might use all of this towards summer days out which I need to start planning soon . It's my mums birthday on 21st July so that has to come out of this payday, I already had a drawer full of body shop goodies so am going to get a nice gift box and use some of those bits but I need to get her something else but have no idea what?!?! It's daughters birthday on the 5th of August as well although I already have a Wii game for her and the pony club books, have decided to be quite mean and only get her a few presents as she gets so much. I buy for her, my mum does, my OH's mum does, her dad and his girlfriend do, their families do and it just gets a bit ridiculous. I am going to get her a knowledge type game and a puzzle from Amazon and then put £10 in her card for some holiday spending money but that is it.
Going to put some bits on Ebay probably next weekend for a little extra and I think I will be doing my mates VAT return in July which he mornally pays me £15 for so that will help. Have arranged lunch with a friend for next Sunday but she has cancelled last minute on me the last four times so I don't hold out much hope!
Does anyone else wish away the months? I keep finding myself wishing next payday would hurry up so I can squirrel more away :rotfl:

Good Morning all :j
Worked in pub last night which was interesting as at 7.10pm the power went off! No tills, couldn't do food and at about 8.15pm we were making plans to shut as light was fading and we couldn't do much else! Just as we were discussing the closing time the power came back on :rotfl:. In a way I was glad as OH was at a BBQ that I didnt want to go to and I didn't want to lose the money. Ended up finishing about half eleven so was home before midnight with £55 in my pocket
Took a £10 Amazon voucher from VO yesterday and bought my daughter a 'Brainbox - all around the world' game and a spot the difference puzzle for her birthday. Total cost after voucher was £2.70. This is what I have spent on her birthday so far:
World of Zoo Wii Game - £4.99 found on Grabbit While You Can Board
3 Pony Club Secret Books - £4.15 used paypal balance from selling a book for remainder
Brainbox Game - Free with survey voucher
Spot The Difference Puzzle - £2.70 Remainder paid from voucher
Total = £11.84 for about £50's worth of gifts.
Part of me is really happy with this as it proves what can be done when on a tight budget but the other part of me feels mean and stingy for spending so littleI am going to put £10 in her card as well and I know that she wont care how much they cost but I must have conditioned myself that I should spend a lot more. Am I babbling now? :rotfl:
Going to watch the footie this afternoon and have a chilled evening, I really need to do some ironing but I just cant in this heat! I am going to see my friend tomorrow that I haven't seen in almost 3 years, she finally sent me her address this morning and says she is really looking forward to seeing me which is nice.
Hope everyone else has a lovely sunny afternoon

My best friend is/was exactly the same if she hasn't spent over £100 on the kids birthday/christmas she feels like she hasn't done enough. She's learning now though. I'm sure your daughter will be thrilled with all her presentsOfficial DFW Nerd Number 526:T

Well done on the bargains.
I would think of it that she still has £50 worth of gifts.
As long as they are gifts that she would like i think you shouldn't worry about it at all.

I think you've done really well on getting all those gifts for that price!
I'm sure you're daughter will love them regardless of amount spent.
Remember time and effort (which you've had to do to get these bargains) is worth so much more than the amount spent!

Hi Jody
Glad it's still going well at the pub, despite the power outage! I wouldn't feel bad at all about how much you actually spend, that sounds like a lovely set of presents, and as you say, the "value" is £50, which is loads. Also, think how much time it takes to get up to £10 on VO - that's a lot of effort you've put in, it took me over a year to get to my first £10!
Hope you enjoyed your Sunday (despite the footie!). We were driving back from the South Coast during the match, and it was eerily quiet on the M25!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Thanks all for your reassurance on the cost of the gifts. My daughter isn't a 'I want' child at all and I know she will like what I have bought her, regardless of how much it actually cost. Thinking about it, even if I went and bought her more, it would just be 'stuff' if that makes sense, probably just bought to make me feel better rather than it being things she actually wanted!
Yesterday afternoon I forced myself to go to the pub with OH for the game, decided that it was definately my turn to buy a round of drinks so spent just under £20 on a round and extra drink for me and OH. After the disappointment of the result we wandered into town and got a KFC which OH paid for. We then went over to the little park in town and ate our food there as the weather was so nice. Sat there for about an hour in the sunshine before wandering home.
Went to my friends today who lives about 35 miles away, I haven't seem her for two and a half years and she now has a daughter who I hadnt met yet. We sat in the garden in the sun and tried to catch up on lots of gossip and I am now a gorgeous shade of lobster red/brown . My poor arm and shoulder on my right side is really feeling it so lots of aftersun is required! I spent £5 at the shop on cigs as I didnt roll enough and some veg for dinner tonight. It was interesting as on the outside their lives look perfect - they have a nice new 3 bed house, have just come back from 2 weeks in Mexico and had a big wedding last summer but she has told me they are struggling with money and have some serious debts which they can only clear by selling their house (which they want to do anyway). Just goes to show that appearances can be decieving.
Going to be good for the rest of the week but do have to go food shopping tomorrow after work but I am going to do a list at work tomorrow and stick to it. I am budgeting £40 in my head so am hoping it will be somewhere around there.
Don't mean to sound ungrateful but I would really like a couple of days without such intense heat! Am struggling to sleep at night and I am sure the office tomrorow will be unbearable

Ouch, Ouch and Ouch. Sunburn is very very bad, the worst I have ever burnt in this country
. My hand is swollen and the top of my right arm is so bruised and tender. Have brough a bottle of aloe vera to work to try and keep is moisturised and am drinking lots of water to keep hydrated.
Lesson learnt!!
