Hi Jody,
Hope you're having a nice weekend. Just wanted to say good luck for tonight, hope it all goes well at the pub.

Thanks very much Jules. I am a bit nervous which I guess is to be expected but at the same time I am looking forward to just getting it done as I am hoping I will feel much more calm about it after tonight. Am hoping my friend is still coming but should know later. Got to leave my house just after half four and will hopefully be home before 11 tonight, going to take some snacks with me as we normally have our dinner about 8pm
Did a 90p survey this morning, my two scratchies and a 10p onepoll survey and has an NSD yesterday :j. The spending diary needs updating as I have left it at work but I have enough petrol to last me until payday on Friday and shouldn't need anything else until then. I think I am due to be paid monthly from the pub which will be quite nice as it will come in about a week and a half before payday!
Should have quite a bit to squirrel away this month, will update my total on payday. Hope everyone is having a good weekend xx

Good Morning all :j
Can't believe it is Monday again already! On the plus side...the pub was absolutely fine. My friend and the chef both kindly stayed with me through locking up and it's really not that bad. It was fairly quiet to start which was nice as it gave me a chance to look around and see where everything is. Got a bit busier later on but it's all pretty straight forward and my legs although a little tired, managed to hold out for the duration of the night. Best bit was I walked away with £55 in my purse
Doing Saturday next week which might be a bit busier but should be fine although I think I will be staying a bit later, will see how it goes
Bought daughter some books for her birthday yesterday, she loves ponies so I got her 3 of the Pony Club Secrets book series, they were only £9.99 for the first three and I had some money in my paypal for a book I had sold so only paid the grand sum of £4.15 :T. Have also decided on a game I am getting her from Amazon but am going to wait for my Valued Opinions account to update so I can use a voucher to pay for it. Just about to go and do my scratchcard and have already transferred over £160 to my savings account - must update my totals!
Going to have a nice chilled night tonight, got to put some dry washing away but am going to have a nice shower and paint my nails before going to bed at a decent time. Feel much more relaxed about the pub now.
Brought lots of fruit to work today - cherries, apple, banana, satsuma, YUM! Need to try and eat a bit better and drink more water as I want to fit in those linen trousers :rotfl:.
Hope everyone had a great weekend
xx

Hi Jody,
I'm really glad the pub went well yesterday, that second income will really help you meet your target, and all the better if you actually enjoy the job
I remembered yesterday that I said I'd dig out the beginner's running training programme we used at the start of the year, and here it is:
Week 1 - Walk 2 mins, jog 2 mins x 3
Week 2 - Walk 2 mins, jog 2 mins x 4
Week 3 - Walk 2 mins, jog 4 mins x 3
Week 4 - Walk 2 mins, jog 4 mins x 4
Week 5 - Walk 2 mins, jog 5 mins x 3
Week 6 - Jog 5 mins, walk 2 mins then regroup
Week 7 - Jog 7 mins, walk 2 mins then regroup
Week 8 - Jog 10 mins, walk 2 mins then regroup
Week 9 - Jog 10 mins, walk 2 mins then regroup
Week 10 - Jog till tired, walk 2 mins to recover
The first few weeks don't look like much, but if you're starting from no running at all, 2 mins seems like such a long time! I did either 2 or 3 sessions a week (mostly 2) and I noticed the improvement really quickly. From week 6 onwards, map out a 2-4mile route (increasing as you start running longer), using something like www.runfinder.co.uk and repeat the running/walking part until you've finished the route, or need to walk the rest of the way
Try to run at a pace where you can continue for the whole time that's set, it doesn't matter how slowly you go as long as you keep going for the whole time! (although if you can still talk easily, you probably weren't going fast enough!)
Hope that's useful for you, as you can see it's quite a short program for the first few weeks, so quite easy to fit in. We even managed a pint at the clubhouse before going back to work most weeks :cool:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi Jules,
I meant to PM you my email address but totally forgot! Thanks for posting that although, quite shockingly, I don't think I could even jog for two minutes without my chest seizing up - yes really. I am thinking I need to start walking again so just regain some basic fitness and then think about running. We only live a 10/15 minute walk from a nice big heath which would be perfect for training
I managed to do a £1 survey yesterday plus the usual 10p on the scratcy, just done 4 x 10p survey on onepoll and another 10p scratchy. Must think about booking the car in for service soon but now I have money in my savings I dont want to spend it :rotfl:. Going to update my spending diary later today if work is ok and analyse what I spent money on this month as it might help me identify some areas I can cut down on this month, have got to get my mum a little something for her birthday though. Roll on payday on Friday!

I really struggled with just 2 minutes at first too, especially as it kept snowing on running club days in January, and the cold makes my asthma act up! I still can't quite believe that I can now run for over an hour without stopping at all!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

I followed that training as well last year when I started to train for half marathon, I sticked to the plan even though I found it quite easy after a week or two. But it really gave me the stamina and was able to follow the half marathon training plan afterwards. I can really recommend it, it;s good, just have a watch with you with timer on it and you'll be able to run soon!0

Oh, yeah, and running is hard at the beginning, I was very fit when started (doing aerobic classes 3/4 times a week) but I could never run-hence the half marathon, wanted to prove I could do it before turning 30. Good music, good shoes and a watch are essential!0

Hi,
I've been lurking for a while and thinking that I really should start posting and also start my own diary!
I'm really lacking in motivation a lot of the time so think it might be just what I need.
Great diary Jody, I'm going to subscribe.

My chest does really feel it, I know smoking really doesn't help either but I used to be able to walk for miles, now I struggle walking up the 3 flights of stairs at work! I might see if I can simplify the plan you posted - like do a minute of jogging then a few minutes walking etc to build myself up if that makes sense? I always look at runners with envy, yes I know I am weird! It's one of those things that I always wish I could have done. Definitely on my list of things to accomplish :jI followed that training as well last year when I started to train for half marathon, I sticked to the plan even though I found it quite easy after a week or two. It's nice to hear the plan works, I am going to try and lose a stone before I start a training plan, maybe I will tie this in with some fast walking to try and get some stamina up?Hi,

Welcome along Beccie! Glad you like the diary, it's gone a bit quiet as of late but I'll still be here babbling to myself if all else fails!
I live in Kent, slap bang in the middle of it actually!
Just did some more Onepoll 10p-ers, woohoo! Must work out how many NSD's I have had and start working out what I have spent this month and do an appropriate budget for next month, including putting some money away in addition to the pub money. Registered as self employed yesterday so will make sure I keep my records straight
