Hey Jody!! Well done on the end of your exams!

    I hope all is well.

Great about the second job. I need to look for something really. My bro and sis work in a nearby restaurant/pub and the landlord is a customer at work! He buys their till rolls from us and we maintain their till systems. He always asks for me to serve him . So i reckon a smile and a request for a sat and sun night job or just when they were short of staff would hopefully get me somewhere. :D

The thing with pub work is it is a bit like riding a bike, once you have done it, you can always do it! When I stopped working at mu last pub I swore I wouldnt do it again, I worked in pubs as a second job for the best part of 9 years and although most of the time it was fine, it was just the commitment of having to be somewhere at a weekend after being at work all week. I am lucky that at the moment I don't have to do it - I am doing it out of choice to better my circumstances which makes a difference.

My friend is going to come and spend some time with me there Sunday which is great! We havent seen each other for ages so she said we could chat and she could show me things, 2 birds and 1 stone etc etc! Hopefully she can also introduce me to some of the regulars so I will know people. If I am honest I still don't want to do it but I desperately want to pay off my debt and go to Mexico next year :D.

I might have to pop to trusty Matalan tomorrow as I only have 1 pair of jeans and my work trousers, could really do with some combats or similar for the pub so beer wont show, is that naughty of me? :A

I don't think so, they'll pay for themselves in a couple of weeks time when you have been working the pub shifts and not that I have done any but i'd imagine being comfortable is a must when you are on your feet all the time?!

That's nice that your friend is coming along to spend a bit of time there with you. I have a feeling that this job could be just what you need to beat the debt ;) xx

Me again! Just read your post on my diary re emergency funds....it scares the hell out of me too not having anything! Perhaps you could use a % of your wages from pub (even just a tiny bit) to start building that emergency fund, put it in a savings account that's not to be touched and i'm sure you'll notice it building up in time??

    xx

Well I am planning on just pooling the pub money for a while in my savings so at least it will be there if I desperately needed it, I just don't want to have to use it but if I have to then I will.

Done scratchy, 10p onepoll survey and just sold a book on Ebay which is another £4 :j. Finding it hard to get motivated at work today, might be because I am on my own so my mind can wander :o although I have loads to do so I need to get on with it!

Noticed yesterday that after July payment I will be sub £7k :T. I remember getting to sub £10k last year so it's nice that it is still going down .

Decided to do some holiday window shopping last night and was looking at some awesome places in Mexico, some of these rooms were bigger than my entire flat! I just want to live the high life just for a really small period of time, I know I can't have it all the time but just once I'd love to be totally indulged and treated like a princess! That's my debt busting motivation for the time being.

Hope everyone else is having a good day x

    Dear diary

Tonight I went to matalan to get a pair of trousers, i came out with a pair of trousers, a pair of jeans, two pretty vest type tops, a pair of flat black shoes and sweets!

I shall hang my head in shame (after killing my boyfriend who is driving me nuts at the moment!).

    Hiya!
Don't worry about your Matalan spend.. it's really cheap there so you can't have blown a lot, can you? And sweets are a necessity, for the sake of your mental health, surely?!
You're sounding more positive about the pub work, and it's great that your friend's coming to see you, it'll make it much easier I'm sure. I've never worked in a pub, but it seems like a really social job. It can't be as bad as working on a parking ticket complaints line, which I did once... I've never known abuse like it!!!
I know exactly what you mean about dreaming of living the high life, just for a little while.... I've been reading 'French Proerty News' and 'planning' my escape to a villa in the sun with my own pool... it won't happen this week though because I didn't get my lotto ticket tonight!
    Keep smiling :)

Thanks Annie! I spent exactly £50, so it wasn't horrendous but it wasn't great either! I got a pair of linen trousers that are a little on the tight side. I am going to try and eat better for two weeks but if they are still too tight then I will take them back and get a refund (of £16!).

The parking tickets complain line sounds like my idea of hell, mind you, I worked in a DVLA local office for almost 4 years and I was sworn at, called a fat f**king !!!!! and all sorts

Oh to have the high life..................I guess we can all dream!

Just 20p on the scratchy today and bought lunch at work as doing an hour in the pub so needed something more substantial or I don't think I could last :rotfl:. Our accounts server has decided not to work which is causing me serious grief today and I am seriously counting down the hours until I finish tomorrow, I plan to lay in bed as long as possible Saturday!!

Oh, I'm jealous of lying in on Saturday. I am blessed with an OH who just can't do sleep in, he must get up at 7 latest at the weekend. already dreading of Saturday, I'm way too tired. He is quite good at being quiet if I wanted to sleep but I can't without him so we end up going usually to the gym by the the time they open it :(.

Sensible eating is the way forward, though I'm planning an oatibix diet week next week, we're off to Spain next Saturday and I need to shread at least 3 pounds...Oh dear, it's gonna be a long week.

OOh spain! I bet you are going to have lovely weather :D My OH could sleep in till the afternoon most weekends I think if I didnt get up and make noise :rotfl:.

I went to the pub last night for a while and it was great, spoke to a few of the regular customers, met the other chef and tasted some food he had made :D. The guy who works Thursday is going to leave his number for me and said to call if I need a hand Sunday night which was really nice of him. Trouble is - so many people have said that, how will I know who to call first?! ;)

Slept better last night but still feel drained and very irritable. I didn't say much about it but last weekend he did something to really upset me and at the moment I feel like he is grating on me - which I hate. I think it's more an issue with me than him as I am so worn out and I think I am taking it all to heart.

Money wise - things aren't too bad, I should have in excess of £150 left this month. Other half gave me £150 to pay for the lights so it effectively means I paid for them myself :D. I have offered to give it back to him but he wont take it so I am going to put it away for my car service. Going to mums for dinner tonight which will be nice, a mummy cuddle always helps :j

better get back to the grindstone........today is going to be awfulllllllllllllll :(

Spain supposed to be nice and hot, I can't wait actually, just to feel the sun! I am fed up with English weather, pls can we have some good weather next week?

Glad that you've other people to call in case you need it, just look after yourself. And great news on the excess money!
