I don't think they probably pay NI for anyone other than one member of staff who always seems to be there! I'm not entirely sure why they like me being self employed but I guess it saves them a lot of hassle with their accounts and obviously I don't have the same 'rights' as an employee in terms of dismissal etc. The funny thing is (I learnt this on my law course) that if something happened at work and it went to court, I wouldn't be seen as self employed at all, I would be classed as an employee............obviously I'm not telling them that
Spent loads in Tesco, bought DD's birthday cake, card, badge and wrapping paper, a few normal bits and lots of picnic food for the Zoo on Thursday, it will still work out cheaper then us all eating there. OH is going to pay for us to get in and mum said she would chip in for petrol so all is not lost!
Something I couldn't post earlier because I was at work was a conversation I had with my boss this morning. We were just talking about our weekends and he started saying that he is worried about the pub interfering with my study, that when our dept head retires in a few years I need to be qualified enough to get the promotion. As he rightly pointed out, it would mean a considerable payrise. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that I am not working in the pub because I love it and I want to, I am doing it because I need to! I do understand what he is saying but life isn't that straightforward. He has plenty of money and has never struggled so he doesn't understand my life and circumstances at all.
I hate Mondays!

Goooooooooooooood Morning All,
Had a great nights sleep last night and am in the office bright and early as it's walkies at lunch today. Recieved £6.30 cash back from Quidco today although still waiting for the two big ones - £50 & £45, no idea if/when I will get those.
Total spends last night were £49.03 but I did buy a massive pouch of tobacco as I worked out I saved 20p :rotfl:, every little helps. Just off to do scratchy but already looking forward to the 25th August so I can do a (hopefully big) transfer to my savings account, must keep in mind that the CentreParcs trip is due to be paid in Nov sometimes as well.

MORNING!!!
I feel shattered today! I don't like these long days, which is every day for me really. I think you must be getting paid 'cash-in-hand' at the pub, so she doesn't pay any tax on your earnings! A bit naughty, but it works out cheaper for them in the long run. Still, if it means more money for you, then that's good

Ah, but as I am self employed it is up to ME to pay the tax, I will because it's the right and proper thing to do and because if it ever came to light that I hadn't, I would be struck off the AAT members list and to be honest with you I quite like having MAAT after my name :rotfl:.
Today was an NSD :T. Just got over £5 on the scratchies now, seems to be taking foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I know you will probably all think I am a heartless cow but I have developed a real HATE for the child who lives downstairs. She is 6/7 I think and is a rela nosey git, she will wait for you to get home then start questioning you where you have been, what you are doing, what you are having for dinner, what does this do? what does that do? Trust me, after a long days work it's the last thing you need .
She also has these awful temper tantrums were she runs out into the hallway or even sometimes to our landing and just screams for ages, then her parents must drag her indoors but you can hear her screaming and banging (honestly it's really loud). It's been going on for ages but tonight is the 2nd time in the last 4 days and I am getting sick of it really quickly. I've even been woken up by it at 1/2am. Her parents (who I try and ignore but OH makes an effort to talk to) have never even apologised, I would be so embarassed if that was my child, I feel sorry for everyone in our block because they must all hear it.
I am starting to wonder if she has ADD or something similar as I know children have moments but this is getting ridiculous. If she is ADD then the parents certainly aren't getting it diagnosed.
Rant Over.......she has shut up for the time being!

Yeah I know you have to pay tax, that's what I was saying, she more than likely does it this way so she doesn't have to pay tax for you.
And I know what you mean about kids. Where I'm living, we have two over-active children living above CONSTANTLY running around up there making noise, even at the weekends from 7am!!!! We have a child downstairs that bashes her piano every night and day, repeating the same songs, and sometimes she just bashes it and doesn't even try to make a tune! The kid next door is young and crys through the night! It's a disaster, and we've looked for someone else to live, but because over the last year the prices have gone up we'll have to pay more than £100 more a month to get somewhere the same as where we're living nowAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

I switched electricity and gas provider back in December, quidco paid out on the 30st June. It was a long wait but hey, it came that matters!
Good luck with the child, hope she will get over this period and she'll be quiet soon:).0 -
Good Evening All,
Not a huge amount to report today other than I have been annoying everyone at work by telling them it's only 3 weeks till payday :rotfl:. Off to the Zoo tomorrow, got DD's presents all wrapped up last night ready to go as I was feeling organised for once.
Just waiting for the DMP payment to update on the total so I can update my signature. I almost want to fast forward to the 19th of December which is when I will have just recieved my bonus and know what sort of position I am in to offer F&F's. Not that I am wishing time away or anything
