Hi Jody
I just wanted to say a quick hello.... the holidays and having DS at home full time is completely taking all my time so I haven't bee around much the last couple of weeks. Hope you're ok, will catch up properly soon xx
Hi Annie! I was going to post on your diary today to see of you were ok as we hadn't seen you for a while! Hope everything is ok your end and look forward to catching up soon!Little_Miss_Red_Head wrote: »I know just how you feel about getting less and less time with your OH (I mean me with mine not me with yours!:D) he seems to always have work to bring home at the moment -hopefully it won't be forever. Once your in a position to stop working at the pub you'll end up being sick of the sight of him!
Hope your legs are feeling better xx
Normally when I tell him I'm working late/extra he does a little whine and says he will miss me but last night when I told him I was working he was like 'ok I'll just play some tunes and stuff'......I was disappointed there was no little whine :rotfl:.
Well yesterday wasn't an NSD either, I ended up buying Zoo tickets. You get 20% for buying online and the tickets are valid for 12 months for either Zoo (they have 2) and at any time. I decided that if I buy them I wont be upset if I overspend later in the month and then can't afford them. On the plus side hopefully the extra pub hours this week will cover it.
I've been a bit of a doofus as I totally forgot to look for 3D glasses at home so unless I get time to whip back before cinema I might have to buy some . Walkies at lunch today, probably going to be a good hour and the sun is shining so I might even get to top up my tan. I did my first weigh in today.....ummm, I lost 0.8 lbs :rotfl:. Without being crude I am sure I could lose that by visiting the lavatory . Not a great start but I had have a big KFC last weekend and have only managed one walk during this week so maybe next week will be better?
Not too much planned over weekend apart from work. Need to sort fish out and might start putting bits in the new tank but it will be a quiet one to save the pennies....got to get a move on to make my £600 target :T

Thanks Kel! I actually don't ache too much today which I am surprised about! Not sure how I will feel on Monday though after around 10 hours on my feet in the pub
.
Managed to nip home before Cinema and get the glasses and my mum brought sweets and drinks to save buying then in the cinema. Toy Story was ok, not as funny as I hoped and there was a very young child in the row behind us who wouldn't keep quiet/sit still and he flung his arms over the chairs hitting me and DD in the face twice and I had my hair pulled numerous times. I had to really bite my lip because the parents didnt even apologise . Only spent £1.50 on parking and gave DD £1 to get a toy out of those dispensing machines.
OH was good this morning and got up and hoovered and stripped the bed and I cleaned the dining table and sorted paperwork. Just mixed up some water for the fish so going to do that before I go to work tonight.
Checked my bank this morning and I think I have £290 left after all my DD's plus my pub wages so in principal I should be well on target for about £200 to go into savings, this would stand me in good stead for my Sep challenge.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, I think it's going to go far too quickly!!

I need to rant, although I must say that this rant may be worthless depending on the reply I get!!
OK worked last night, almost 5.5 hours , it was pretty hectic but the band were good. So my boss pays me and it doesn't look quite right but I was too tired to try and work it out. Well on the way home I realised she has paid me £5.50 an hour . I work there on a self employed basis and have to pay my own tax, so that means it is £4.40 an hour after tax...!!!!!!?!!? Maybe rather naively I assumed she would pay me my normal rate (£10 an hour). I have text her today to ask if that's right as it wont be worth me working extra hours after I pay tax if that's what she is going to pay me!
My friend who used to work there thinks she has forgotten that I do it self employed and has paid me the same as the others, which may be exactly what she has done. But if not, I wont be doing any extra. Just waiting to hear back from her, am working 5 till close tonight too but there is two of us and no music so I am hoping it will be fairly quiet.

That's not good about the pay, but it's better to be straight with her. Could be a genuine mistake though. Hope you get it sorted outAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Bit confused! Doesn't take much I know!
If the rate of pay is £10 an hour but she does the tax for you then you would take home £5.50?
What rate do you pay tax at???
Just wondered as I pay tax on my pub wages at 20% and I'm rubbish at maths so can't work out the % but that is much, much higher!

Hi Jody,
That's rubbish about your wages, hope it was a mistake - I can't see any reason why extra hours wouldn't be paid at your agreed rate?
Hope the pub was ok last night, and you've managed to sort it out with the landlady.

Good Afternoon All
I will apologise now for any spelling mistakes, I am so shattered!! Doing both nights and all that walking has totally taken it out of me this week, I feel like I need a couple of days off to recover (I don't know ow you do it Beccie!!!).
Landlady didn't text me back yesterday but she was at the pub when I got there so spoke to her and she said she had forgotten I worked on a self employed basis and I was to take the rest that night. I am not 100% convinced that she forgot but I definately took the rest! Beccie I'm not too sure why we have this agreement with me being self employed, she pays the others a take home pay of £5.50 an hour and I guess that her accountant has to work out the PAYE and any NI etc, I suppose the plus side for them is that they don't have to pay any NI for me???!?!?!?!?
Had a really miserable, rude and obnoxious customer last night, he was fine for a few hours but then he just turned. The girl working with me was so angry as he made digs about her being a parent and it just wasnt necessary and she ended up having a go at him but I'll also be telling my manager as well.
Money is looking great! Have £150 in my purse from last two weekends in pub. Didn't spend anything much at weekend as seemed to be always working! Really need a decent nights sleep

Not sure but I don't think my landlady has to pay NI for us anyway - think you have to earn a certain amount a year or because it's a second job you don't? I could be wrong though, cause I have to admit to not really being that clued up on this stuff! Think you're on the better deal though even with the hassle of doing your own tax - if she is only giving them £5.50 out of every £10 then they are paying nearly 50% tax whereas unless anyone has a very well paying first job so they are in the next tax bracket then you should only be paying 20% tax.
And I don't know how I do it either - maybe just got used to the feeling I could fall asleep standing up????? :rotfl::rotfl:I do have to admit that quite often sleep is all I can think about
Bless you, know what you mean with customers like that. They have one drink too many and then they just change. Hate people like that - if that's what drinking does to you then stop drinking!
