Looks far better, I always thought the old format looked dated, this is a vast improvement.:)0

Thanks for the option Martin, I've gone back to the old version, it fits my screen, maybe I'll wander back in a few weeks and take another look.0

I agree with John Gay, post 187:Please can we get rid of the surfeit of initial capital letters in:
The Following User Says Thank You to Someone For This Useful Post:
And I also love the suggestion from laurz121 in post 155Everybody seems to hate the thread stats box in the first post of every thread and I agree, it's in the way where it is.
I had a little play in photoshop and came up with this (see below). What do people think? All the info from the thread stats box is still there it's just moved into other unused areas of the page.
Views is already in the top bright green bar so doesnt need to be there twice.
WOW Factor I've moved next to views
F'book and twitter are in the lighter green bar next to the post number
Other than that, I really like the new look0 -
Look and Feel I can live with
BUT Oh Lord what have you done to the performace!!!
It needs fixing web page shouldnt take this long to load!0 -
Overall I like it but 2 issues:
1. Speed - very slow
2. The breadcrumbs (to skip back to a section) are way too small and too high up. It's really annoying to find them to go back to the thread listings in a sub forum for example. Could they not be bigger and under the topic title link?0 -
I love the new version in terms of aesthetics, but it's SO slow it's almost unbearable!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
hi, i quite like the green and like that you put so much time and effort in the boards. we are all thankful for that!
I've noticed one thing that will irritate me though - the colour change on the multi-quote is barely visable. the background goes from blue to green but it's impossible to see really. especially if you are scrolling up and down.
i'm a keen participant on several quite fast moving threads, and the multiquote makes keeping track of who i'm responding to possible. i havent tried to see if you now allow more than 3, but either way the colour change NEEDS to be more visable.
thanks!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
I usually read through all the posts before adding comments in case mine's a duplicate.
Can't do that because the site is incredibly slow
1. Fix the speed
2. Have you considered how many MSE users are VIP (visually impaired) and have to use screen readers, magnification etc ?
Garish colours make this site almost unreadable and a waste of time.
Pity really as you have soem really good info :T
