I recently got a similar deal from MCD which offered 'Save 83% on designer specs and sunglasses at 2020'.
My wife wanted a pair of the new Red Raybans so I thought great timing. But before committing the cash I search for on-line costs and rang the 2020 shop to get their prices.
Best on-line was £88 and 2020's price was £168.
Deals like that I can do with out, always check before you commit. If it seems too good to be true it usually is. :mad:0 -
Still havent got my glasses. Apparently they are out of stock (and i didnt order any obscure glasses or sale ones either), god knows when they will come.
So much for the 7 days, and so much for the last email i had saying most customers would get their glasses over the bank holiday weekend. When i rang the 1st thing i was offered was if i wanted to choose an alternative pair, why would i want to choose some glasses that i didnt originally want!
Well at least MSE can be proud of the supposed hard line they have took with this supplier. Some people still havent got their glasses, havent heard of anyone who has recieved the price difference refunds yet either. Absolute shambles.0 -

Just to clarify - we can only take a hard line when we know what the issue is. Actually most of the cases we've heard of seem to be sorted. I'm sorry yours isn't but unless we know about it we can't try and deal with it - which is why we're asking!Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Exactly the same thing as well. Ordered a pair of prescription glasses on the 20th May, noticed that the £50 had not been taken off so emailed the customer services via link in order acknowledgement. Was sent an email saying it would be refunded on the 21st May, emailed again on the 3rd of June still waiting for the refund and the glasses.0

I can confirm that I bought x 3 vouchers and have ordered x 3 pairs of glasses - 2 x oakleys, 1 x dior - I emailed them requesting original prices as they suggested - and was honoured - I have received all 3 pairs within 5 days and can honestly say - WHAT A BARGAIN -:j:T0

Thought I'd share my experience (so far) with this;
At the weekend, concious that I should use my voucher soon, I entered the voucher code and got the red text on the site to say that the £50 would be removed from the balance at checkout. I proceeded to order a pair of Custom Oakley sunglasses, but the £50 didn't get removed from the balance at checkout. When did I notice? After paying, of course!
So I sent an e-message thingy via the SGS website at the weekend, but their support staff aren't there out of office hours so I had to wait. Didn't hear anything back Monday, so phoned on Tuesday morning. The girl said to email the support team directly and they should be able to credit me back the £50 if I include the voucher number in the email. So that's what I did and they replied to say they would indeed credit me back the £50. Good service - at least very helpful at sorting out a problem.
I look forward to my new Oakleys and I'll keep an eye out for the £50 refund on my card. Fingers crossed...-Al,

I bought my voucher on 19th May & my glasses on 20th May.
I emailed both MyCityDeal & The Sunglasses Shop on 26th May to check the payments had been made as I had heard nothing (I later found the verification emails regadinging payments - £17.50 via payPal on 19th May & £25.50 via RBS Worldpay on 20th May - so know that that can't be the problem).
I emailed The Sunglasses Shop again on 6th June to query why I hadn't heard anything. So far I have not had a response & there is no sign of my glasses - it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I placed my order.
I'm going on holiday on Saturday, so if I don't receive them in the next couple of days the whole thing will have been a waste of time & I will have to go through the ordeal of claiming refunds, etc.
I won't be touching this type of deal again - as many have said 'if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is'.0 -
I ordered the voucher on the 19th and a pair of Oakleys from the site on the 20th.
Mine arrived no worries 3 working days later as per the website. I emailed them to confirm there was no order confirmation, just the worldpay receipt and I had a prompt polite response.
They clearly looked like a small outfit but in my case all went through fine.0 -
I ordered my glasses on the day after the voucher came. I am still waiting, i have found the people very rude, they have offered me alternatives all of which are more expensive and i will have to pay the difference, why would i want them holding more of my money. They claim they are waiting for more stock but cant say when it will be in, they must have an order number and expected order date with their supplier? MSE has lost a lot of credibility over this in my eyes.0

I ordered my Aviators before the "live" time and they came really quickly, ordered some Oakley snowgoogles as a gift a couple of weeks later after I'd been paid and they turned up three days later. Can't complain at all...no idea about price reduction on the goggles as I had to pick another pair in the end as the A Frames were out of stock, but the Aviators were the same price as the day before. I think.
Gutted to hear some people had problems and are still struggling now, but MSE can't be held to blame.0
