Im english I know the difference between your and you're but that doesnt mean I use it. Sometimes people dont think about punctuation etc etc when making a post on a public forum, it's not like writing an official letter ;)

Normally when I'm posting on a forum I like to try and make my posts as easy for other people to read as possible - so use the best SPAG I can. Seems most people make their posts as easy to *type* as possible. Each to there own I guess.

Haven't read after page two as it's all getting a bit messy, but OP you're right to be annoyed that they never came directly to you, but if I remember correctly, did your child not have a problems with his DS being "stolen" by another child before at after school club? Maybe it's because of that and maybe other similar issues you don't know about that they've banned it. I have to say, if I were you, I would be happy to have him leave it at home after that. If you're not the person I'm thinking of, then ignore all that, and just let them know you'd prefer that they communicated a bit better in future!

I think they should have spoken to you about the problem with it, but can entirely understand them telling him to stop bringing it.

At my daughter's after school club the children are not allowed to bring any of their own toys or books because it simply causes too much bother. It's entirely natural that children of that age want to play with the toy they don't have or are not allowed. I daresay the staff have better things to do than to police the use of a toy.

Children not sharing is my pet hate and my girls are being taught that if they don't want to share their toys or games then they simply do not play with them around other children.

I'm quite surprised they don't have it in their rules somewhere that children shouldn't bring their own toys as most of those sorts of places do.

I don't care about what's best for your kid - I worry about my own and she keeps me busy enough.

Having said that, it sounds like the after school club can either insist your son share his PSP and risk it breaking, or tell him not to bring it altogether, which seems fair enough considering the lessons kids learn about sharing and politeness. If you don't like the option they've given you via your son where the PSP stays at home, you can either make a fuss about it that will probably do no good or else find an after-school childminder who doesn't mind having a kid sitting in the corner playing a PSP.

Actually, I imagine getting the school involved would be a bad move on your part, if PSPs are banned then they probably don't want one sitting idle in his bag during the school day and will [STRIKE]probably[/STRIKE] side with the after school club.

Is that one of those qualifications you print off the internet?

sorry Paulfoel but going by your responses to other posters its no wonder the after school club havent approached you direct - they are probably worried you would give them a mouthful or stick your fingers in your ears singing 'lalalala cant hear you...'

This thread has got so funny I'm sitting here laughing at how high and mighty some of the poster on here are !!!!
I've had insults, name calling, and all sorts. Last poster has even decided to dig up one of my old threads.
Are you lot that insecure that you have to prove that you're better than anyone else?
Bet your all English !!!! LOL :-)

I also have to ask what the hell being English has to do with anything!

Ok well your original question was 'what would you do'

Personally Id accept that they are no longer allowing my child to take the console. I might mention that you would have appreciated a letter home stating this fact as no, passing the message through a 6 year old isnt really professional, but that is all. Nothing else you can do really.

One a different note, I googled that saying , and yes, as a mother to a child with special needs its very tasteless indeed.
